I don't see how people could say this establishment holds a "friendly" environment. I spent less than 3 minutes in this cafe and was so embarrassed and offended by their management that I will never step foot into the building again. My story goes like this - I live nearby (just recently moved less than 6 months ago) and was on a run checking out the neighborhood. As most runners know, sometimes when you have to go.... you have to go. Being two miles away from my own home, I was not left with many options. The pizza hut next door had no bathroom to offer. I then walked into the Zaferan Cafe - willing to ask someone to use the rest facilities upon walking into the building (as I did in pizza hut minutes prior). However, when I walked in I merely observed a group of people sitting at one table off to the side, of which I assumed were only customers. Seeing the urgency of my situation, I darted back to the bathroom and did my business quickly (all while observing the restaurant facilities, contemplating a future visit to fulfill my love of middle eastern food). Unfortunately, as I was leaving the bathroom I was trapped by a group of middle eastern men, not allowing me access to the front door. Apparently, the group of individuals I once assumed were simply patrons in this establishment, were in fact the owner/owners family. They were not impressed with quick use of their restrooms without asking permission first. (Of course, I would have asked if I was greeted appropriately as I walked in.... like at the pizza hut....) To make matters worse, these middle eastern men yelled and accused me of doing drugs in their bathrooms (which is ridiculous considering I was clearly dressed for a winter run and NOT interested in that aberrant behavior). As I attempted to sincerely apologize and explain my situation to the management, I was continuously interrupted and again, accused of doing drugs in their bathroom. Embarrassed, ashamed, and disheveled I shuffled to the door as quick as I could... NEVER to return again. Fortunately, with my luck there was NOT A SOUL actually dining as customers in the restaurant to spare me some pride/dignity. Do...
Read moreIf you are a delivery driver, decline picking up orders here. Management got an item wrong and demanded I call my company even though I am an independent contractor that can only get to support via a Chat with a waiting line. He proceeded to aggressively demand I call the company and that the company called him and told him it was beef, not chicken. I called the customer to confirm what I was seeing on my screen which was true, chicken. The whole time, I was trying to be polite as possible, repeating what I said while showing him the screen, as well as trying to connect to support.
I really tried to listen to him and understand what the misunderstanding was as well as trying to contact support, waiting in line. But he kept pushing, got in my space and refused to give me a moment to even satisfy his wish to "speak" with the company.
He accused me of being rude because I kept repeating myself but if someone is repeating something, it means you're not listening or understanding what they're saying! After more aggressive talking and dismissal of my order information + the customer confirmation, I dropped the order and left.
I am paid too little to ever let someone treat me so rudely. Especially people unwilling to admit to a mistake because of pride. Do not accept orders here, management is awful. God forbid you're a customer and they bring out the wrong dish and...
Read moreVisited this lovely restaurant today with my older sister and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals! She ordered the filet mignon kabob/chicken kabob plate with rice and a pomegranate side salad & I ordered the chicken barg plate (same as the kabob but the chicken is flattened) with only rice.
Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs 👀 so we also ordered the marinated Cornish hen w/rice dish to share (thinking this could be sort of an appetizer) but we were totally surprised by the portions of the amazing food we received! Every single single we tasted was incredible - chicken/filet mignon was tasty and moist, the rice was perfect and not overcooked & the salad was fresh with no wilted veggies. The food took a bit of time to reach our table, but that's because everything was made fresh and to order, which we definitely appreciated!
The staff was friendly and courteous - the manager checked on us and our server gave us options when deciding on what to order. Will definitely be coming back with my husband and in-laws; this will be a new...
