La Salle County Steakhouse — Restaurant in Cotulla

I went there today. They open at 5:00 in the afternoon. I was one of the first people inside and seated. I got my tea and the young lady took my order. I got a small steak which includes salad bar and baked potato. When I went over to the salad bar to get a salad it was covered with bugs, gnats flies and some of the little weevil looking thing that was all over all the vegetables and salad. The young man that was seating people looked to me and said it's bad ain't it. I asked him if he knew it was bad. Why hadn't he fixed it? He said it wasn't his job but he said he would tell the girls in the back. In a few minutes the waitress come over and ask me what was wrong and I showed her the bugs on the salad bar. She said she would get somebody to fix it and another girl came out of the back with a paper towel and wiped off the little metal tray where you set your plate while you make your salad and wiped around the ranch dressing bowl and nothing more. The waitress came back over and I asked her if they were going to do anything about the salad bar and she said that they did. I explained to her they did not and ask her if my order had already been placed because I was going to go. She said it had and shortly after my steak arrived. My dinner was average but I was already pretty disgusted by that salad bar that she had told me was the one from lunch. Upon getting my bill it was substantially higher than I had estimated from the menu. When I asked about this she told me that the prices had not changed on the menu but had went up substantially as of the recent cost of things. I don't believe I will be returning. I barely left the restaurant headed toward ensenal when I started having some stomach pain and got sick. I would encourage you to stay away from...

Only reason I put a star was because that was the only option I had for the lowest. To begin with there is no reason why alcohol drinks should be brought before a kids fountain drink. Waitress was just sitting down while we waited 10 minutes. Had to ask the hostess to grab my child’s drink. Never came to our table to get our appetizer order. We requested another waitress. Started off decent, but that faded away pretty quick. Ordered shrimp with my steak, and that was delivered after my steak was done. My daughters fries were cold, and my gf’s Mac was cold as well. Both toilets were clogged. My daughter was just disgusted to point where she just wanted to just hold it in until we went back to the hotel. Spoke with the owners about the experience, and just seemed like it was just a blah blah conversation. In one ear and out the other. Bad thing about the whole situation was the fact that it wasn’t even packed at all. I’m all about service. I tip very well for great service, but this was just an overall bad experience from the get go. Enough to never return again. Sucks to have family come in from out of town just to have that experience. Embarrassing in my opinion. Was offered a discount, but I’m not that person. I don’t try to get out of getting a free meal. The only reason I thought it deserved a 1 star was for the food,but I have a major complaint. My family and I were on our way back home from San Antonio and decided to stop and eat dinner. Everything was going well except for a couple of things. They forgot to give us utensils and straws. (Those were minor though...we didn't mind.) My mother had ordered a steak a while after our first order. It was taking quite a while.My step-dad and I were almost done with our food when my mother started feeling ill. So we decide to ask the waitress to put the steak to go. More time passed and they brought the steak (but not to go). We ask for a paper plates to put the food in and so they bring it to us. After paying and leaving a pretty good tip,might I add, a woman (who works there)comes and tells us she'll be putting the plate in a bag for us and takes it to the kitchen. The waitress from before brings back the plate and we leave to our car. In our car my mother decides to check her food and when she opens it there's a big blob of saliva. I was so angry. I wanted to go back and get my money back but my mother said to just let it go. So we continued driving,but I could never figure out why they would do such a thing.

Oh,and if you just so happened to be the woman who spit on our food...I have something to tell you.
