Bertha's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

Call it a dive bar...call it a hole on the wall... cal it what you want! But, this is the best hole in the wall we go to. We go once or twice a month to eat and visit with friends. Now, if you are a neat freak and can't handle things a bit run down then don't go here. But.... if you are like me and down with a local dive bar, stop in and you will see. Surprisingly great bar food! Great atmosphere! Staff has always been fun and engaging! Did I mention you will be pleasantly surprised at your bill too? I have caught myself on more than one occasion asking the wait/ bar staff for itemized receipt because I thought they made a mistake in my favor. Not the case. Just reasonable pricing. Now.... stop driving by this place asking where you should grab a bite. Just go there and see...

well the owner is awesome and he gave me free ice cold pepsi's because i was playing in the live band he had and i accidentally left my keys there and forgot and 5 days later they gladly gave them to me after keeping a close eye on them behind the bar i also handed them an improper amount of money i accidently handed him 2 extra dollars which he pointed out and gave back instead of pocketing it so i let him keep it anyway because of his honesty oh and if you go you gotta try them wings of they'res, there awesome 5 stars form me although i wouldnt know about the beers or alcoholic drinks of the sorts due to my age which is not appropriate for the...

My sole requirement for this fine establishment was their rating in the breaded pork tenderloin category. Passed with flying colors!! Yes! The bun is perfect match, please don't fix what ain't broken folks, the breading hits the mark. Nice amount for crunchiness and texture but not excessive where you think you just got a breading sandwich. Good quality meat. Good flavor and not full of gristle! The fries could been fried maybe 2-3 minutes longer but were firm and not under cooked soggy which seems to be getting more prevalent. Highly recommend and I will definitely repeat.
