7 Devils Cafe — Restaurant in Council

The other day me and my mom ate here. We ordered 2 cheese burger specials they said give us 15 minutes and your food will be done. After 15 minutes passed I went and picked up our order. They really really nice and friendly to me when I was picking up my order. Once I got home and I live really close, I took my first bite and realized the burger was colder than it thought it should have been. Thats when I looked down only to see the inside of the burger was red not even pink. Opon further examination of the center of the burger the center is dark red and cold to the touch. Having lost my appetite and feeling disgusted I had no interest of returning however my moms burger was the same. So we shut the lids to our containers and my mom brought them back kindly asking for a refund. Mistakes happen we assumed no big deal. Even when presented with the raw burgers my mom had been told in a very rude manner by the manager that they where well done and she would absolutely not give a refund. The total was only $18.00 plus a tip. Its really petty to lose 2 customers over $20.00. Not that we would've eaten there again after how disgusting those...

Today's visit wasn't great. Food/ service was good ( its hit and miss over the years on this as we have witnessed locals getting taken care of before the people passing thru town), but when I got my plate today, my husband realized part way thru me eating, I am missing hashbrown( not a huge issue) except she never came back to check on us AND when we got the bill, prices didn't match the menu prices( off by almost 2.00 for each plate. When I went to pay the bill I asked about prices and hashbrowns, apparently there was a price increase but it wasn't reflected on the menu. Was told the owner hasn't brought in New updated menus. In my opinion, you need to honor the menu price until new menu are in circulation. She gave me a small discount for no hasbrowns but nothing for the price adjustment, except for a sorry. Its been hit and miss for years, sometimes good, mostly not. Today may have been the final straw for us not to go back. We LOVE supporting the ma and pa business but you can't continue to screw people and expect them to come back. There are other places that want...

I have been here three times now. The food was satisfying. I have had the cheese burger, the nachos, and and a grill cheese sandwich. They were all very much cafe food. The service was interesting. Oh, and by the way, don't ask for the pie on the menu, they never have pie:) I have asked for it three times, and they never have it. Also, the menu prices aren't being followed right now because of Covid. They should just say, all prices are going to be raised by 20% on the menu but the don't tell you the price changes until you get your bill and there are some people who don't take too kindly to being charged an extra dollar or two for the fish, or the like. Overall, it has a nice atmosphere but the service could take it up a notch. And for goodness sakes, if you have pie on the menu, please have a pie in the cupboard please ready to serve...:) A cafe without pie is like a cowboy...
