Upon stopping in Covington VA, our hotel receptionist recommended this place against a Chinese restaurant and a new opened Mexican restaurant. The wife ordered the house made lasagna. The son ordered a calzone that they conveniently call a turnover and I tried the spaghetti and meatballs. We also had salad and garlic bread. The salad bar was super clean and very tasty, the garlic bread was actually amazing. Probably didn't need two portions because they were pretty large but they were great. The wife lasagna is good. The son's calzone was great. Now onto my spaghetti overcooked noodles out of sight. Crazy. Couldn't even twist the pasta. They broke every time I looked at it. Not enough sauce. It was dry as a bone but the meatballs were tasty. If we lived here I'd give it one more try, but if I ever come through this town again I will have definitely have to pass. Especially because they charge you to use your debit card or your credit card. I run a restaurant chain in Cincinnati. We take credit cards and we pay the percent point to let the credit card go through. We don't pass it to the customer and sort of when we do. We put it in the price of the food, but this food was too expensive to begin with at $15 from pasta and sauce 15 for the wife lasagna with a salad and bread right on even for the pop over, but definitely not. The pasta definitely wouldn't refer. It definitely don't recommend it would not go back. However, our waitress is amazing and several the cashier, people or super friendly.... It wasn't for the horrible pasta and the passing on the credit card markup to the customer. I probably would do this again...

I'm more disappointed than I am dissatisfied. They advertise their closing time at 10PM but that's not the way it is ran. I have attempted to try to order a few weeks ago and I had called 15 minutes before closing time. Most places will still take an order and fill it. Many places do if not all I have dealt with, at the last hour. Well no biggy I thought because I had called and not actually walked in the restaurant as I did on my second attempt. I did arrive later that evening because of circumstance and I do live 45 minutes or more away and it was still 20 minutes before closing time. And with most places that would not be a problem. Turns out no one gets served after 9:30pm. No orders taken nor phone answered after that. I had asked the owner standing there and he kept saying we close at 10 and i would say "but its not 10 yet". Didn't understand what he was meaning but I figured it out. 9:30 thru 10 is the half hour that everyone was cleaning so they could all leave out the door at 10. And That's all fine too. And I know all restaurants have their closing times and their own rules. It's nusr their own way of doing things.. But I feel it's false advertisement when the hours are being advertised they close at 10 when they really close at 9:30. I think it's safe to say, I'm not the only one turned away for service but I do believe it would be nice if they would wrote a side note that 10 is when the employees of the restaurant all left because they were all cleaning at 9:30. Looks like a good crew.

I only want to eat another pizza and or...

First off, the food is yummy enough and the staff is friendly. Why the two star? ...As a warning to those in any sort of hurry. Although we didn't wait for a table, our party of 6 waited 40 minutes before we finally phoned our order in from the table! 30 minutes later we were dining on our food. Although very apologetic, nothing was done to make up for the lack of service. Will we come back? Only if we have lots of time to kill. I was appreciative of the extra time for family bonding, but half of it was spent asking aloud if our server was ever coming back to take our order. ☹️ Food critique: calzones (turnovers) are a bit on the too-cheesy side (which I didn't think possible and others at my table disagree strongly as they fall in the "never too much cheese" camp) and the sauce needs just a tad of flavor besides tomato. It's super fresh tasting but several of us added hot peppers and black pepper to kick it up. As a basic sauce, it's really good, we just prefer some spices. If not for the service, this review would be a 3.5. Maybe we caught them at a busy time....

One of my FAVORITE restaurants of all time. Not sure how I’ve never written a Google review about it but my love for this restaurant is over the moon. I grew up going here from the time I was a baby until now in my late 20’s and it is still one of my favorite places to get pasta and sauce. Cucci’s sauce is loved and cherished by people all over the country. I have had pasta around the world and their red sauce is some of the BEST ever created. The salad bar is absolutely delicious and their bread is savory and fresh. They have some of the best sweet tea as well. Not to mention, their desserts are also incredible and my personal favorites are the cannolis and occasional cotton candy cheesecake! Love love love. I hype up this place to everyone I meet and my grandmother purchases me about 40 cans of Cucci’s sauce a month for my travels. My only complaint is that they don’t have an Instagram so I can tag them every time I go there or use their sauce! I could go on for days. I’m truly one of their biggest fans and will forever be. Cucci’s you are simply THE BEST.
