Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Covington

It was really good. Service was great. They do not play about the whole party has to be there before being seated. I witness a lady book for a party of 5 but only 2 was there so they had to wait. It is a little pricey 2 adults and 2 kids $95 with tax but it is hibachi! We would return.

Updated 1/7/23 Today we received horrible service. We had a party of 8 and there were 2 other people at our table, the whole table was black. A few minutes late another table arrived, party of 12 which were all white. We waited about 15 minutes for a server (which was unheard of but it is a Saturday night). The server comes and goes directly to the white table, now the greeter that gave us our number tried to tell the server that our table was 1st but she didn't listen. It isn't the tables fault they were served first it is the servers fault. Especially since she was told we were first. Although I do not speak the language, the hand gestures and body language showed what the greeter was telling the server. The greeter apologize however its still unacceptable. You handle the tables based on who arrived first, not who you want to help. We've never had any issues in the past but this was our last time at...

So I have been here twice. The food was outstanding the first time and the service was great.. I went there the other day, the chef was a young Chinese, not Japanese, also the food was extremely salty. He did a small volcano, but nothing like the previous chef from the prior year. No real showmanship, that you would come to a hibachi for. The meat was also very hard and the salmon a very small portion. Think a little fatter than a marker. They said if I ordered full salmon it would be double that 🙄 My two children only ate half the food, my older kids ate it out of obligation and I asked mine to be recooked. They had no problem recooking it, but the food they brought out was only slightly less salty. I told him this and they brought me out some rice to mix it with. I don't know what they change from a year ago (2022), but we had no issues with the food taste. They were unwilling to give even a small sido Additionally, the food I brought home. I found these in it.. it may be seeds of some sort, but looked like a bug, but I am rating them as if it is not.

They are very nice, however they do not give any sorts of discounts even if the food is bad. That I believe is not good...

Since our favorite Sushi place closed we have started going to Nagoya for our sushi. It's pretty decent and reasonably priced. Nothing that will make you wish you'd commit suicide as one review stated. That is ridiculous. We also have never had it served to us at room temp. Maybe that reviewer was eating at the hibachi and it took it a while to get to them? When we eat sushi there we eat in the sushi area and watch it get made and it never sits.

We also eat at the hibachi and it's always very good. The only complaint I have is the building itself. The inside is a little dingy and it seems in the summer their air is never on and in the winter their heat is never on. They have changed the seating in the hibachi area which was a nice change. You sit in chairs (clean) appose to like a sitting box that always seemed dirty to me. Their plates are not china and are hard plastic, so they don't always seem clean, but it's just residue.

The staff is always super nice and friendly. We've never had a problem with service. If you want some good sushi or great hibachi, you can't...
