We have been hearing about the CFS so we had to try it out. The place is cute, clean, and comfortable. We arrived about 11:04, were seated promptly, and our drinks & food order taken. There were only 2 other tables with people but it took a little while for food to come out. We are retired and in no hurry to go anywhere so that was not a problem for us. But the server never came by to check on us or anything, to see if we needed anything else, or to say that food would be a little bit. Anyway, someone else brought our food out eventually. The place was starting to get busy by then ( about 11:25 ?). Food was good. Hubby had a burger that he liked - it looked great to me also. I had the chicken Fried Steak & fries. The CFS was HUGE - covered most of the plate. It was tasty. Might have taken a little more gravy, but the server never came back to us. We never got a refill on our tea or anything. I flagged someone down for a take home box when I had eaten all of the steak I could. We never got a ticket so we just went to the counter to pay. No problem there - the lady easily pulled up our table & paying was okay. So, all & all, the food was good, but we thought that the service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've tried them three times. Each time, I asked for bacon "burnt to a crisp". Now at the dearly-departed Hot Rodz, they always cooked it the way I asked for it. But at Jamie's, they simply refuse. Literally. As in the cook actually said, "I can't do that". (I've never had another restaurant, be it Huddle House or IHOP or anyone, refuse to serve me crisp bacon.) And so, no matter how you ask for it, you're going to get undercooked, floppy gummy-bacon. Granted, I can throw it in the microwave for a minute once I get home, but when I pay $16 for breakfast, should I have to do that?
Then there's the potatoes -- they call them "country potatoes", but I feel like that's misleading. They're covered in some odd orange powder I'm not familiar with, and I don't care for the taste at all. But you can't get hashbrowns here, or french fries -- it has to be the orange-powdered potatoes.
As for eggs, they know two kinds: fried and scrambled. If you ask for "over-medium" or "sunny-side up", you're going to be disappointed -- because you're getting fried or scrambled, period.
The wait staff is very polite...

On my first and second visits, I didnāt get past the first page of the menu and couldnāt resist their Chicken and Waffles. The waffle was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The fried chicken was seasoned, breaded, and cooked to perfection. It also comes with an amazing gravy as well.
My third visit I tried their cheese burger and added a fried egg. They give you the option of how you want your egg and meat patty cooked, and of course the burger was exactly as ordered. I have to say it was the best burger Iāve ever had!
I donāt know what brand of tea they serve,...
