My husband and I had wanted to try this restaurant for quite sometime now. (My son lives next to the restaurant so we pass it when visiting). We ate there about two months ago.
We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time so it was nice and quiet. The waitress gave us the menu and I quickly glanced at the prices and my jaw hit the floor!
I found something that wasn’t too expensive and let my husband order a more expensive item. I had the plantains and he ordered the paella.
I asked the waitress for a glass of water and she brought over two bottles of water. I asked if they were free and she said no. I asked for tap water and she also said no! That’s ridiculous ! So we ordered one bottle and shared it.
It did take awhile for our dinners to arrive. Not sure why as we were the only ones there!
I didn’t know what to expect with my dinner, the plantains, since I never had them before. They were quite tasty! My husband said his was very tasty, but not enough of it on the plate for what the price of it was!
Then, the bill came. The waitress had filled in a 20% tip herself! I changed it to 15% and even that was generous!! She said I had to tip 20%! I said tips are optional and she’s lucky I gave her one at all!
We left the place still hungry and disgruntled! I can’t see how this restaurant will stay open with their high prices and...
Read moreThis is a nice little cozy place right on the corner of haven ave. It’s a restaurant on one side and the lounge is connected on the other side.
I had to move my family closer to the entrance door because the smell of the hookah was strong. We originally sat next to the kitchen which is the back of the restaurant. But you can clearly see the lounge section from the restaurant.
The food was ok, nothing spectacular. The finger food I found better than the entrees. The fry rice should be called vegetable fry rice because it’s loaded with vegetables. It had decent flavor and we ordered the shrimp fry rice. Which again should be called shrimp and vegetables fry rice.
We ordered the steak that comes wrapped in plantains. It’s was also ok. The texture and flavor of the steak was a bit bland. But the avocados made up for it.
We also got French fries and chicken fingers for the kids and we really enjoyed those.
The water bottle are $3.00 each, which is mind boggling. So be prepared when the bill comes.
Overall the location is nice place to try and give it a shot.
We found the food a bit overpriced in comparison with the portion size.
But the appetizers were the best part of our experience at Vincent.
The service was also good. Although it took a pretty long time to get our food to the table and we were the only...
