You know I consider myself a bit of a foodie, which sounds super silly and stupid. But I've eaten at Michelin Stars in NYC a number of times, and a bunch of other big restaurants, but I think back to people like Anthony Bourdain and how he could appreciate those places, but would always say his favorite place was the humble mom and pop places.
That to me is what Qs Dairy Sweet is, and it is awesome to put it simply. It is by far the best most "homey" burger I've had, and we just had to order more. I'm unsure if I'll ever be back in Crawford, but if I am I will certainly come here again.
I also noticed that Qs is currently trying to help ensure people in their town can get groceries after a local grocery store closed, and that is just such a noble goal. I know there are a lot of food deserts out here in Nebraska, and I gotta give props to a place that genuinely cares about their community and loves visitors.

The attached picture was the actual amount of mushrooms I received for $8.
Either way, the food was good. The service was very friendly but slow. Don't expect a fancy building or updated bathrooms. It's pretty old and showing its age. All that to say, is a good place to stop to grab a bite that's right on the highway.
My advice is just buy the basket meal and it'll keep...

We were camping at nearby Fort Robinson State Park and stumbled across this culinary delight when we stopped for fuel next door on our way to Carhenge. The 1/3lb patties are thick and flavorful, and the toppings fresh & juicy. The "old-school" onion rings came with a side of ranch (as God intended), and my special request pineapple/blueberry shake was a treat indeed.
*Pro Tip: get your order to go and enjoy it in the shade at the picnic tables at the picturesque visitor center with the Caboose on the corner.
*Insider Tip: be extra kind to the personable staff, tip well, and ask about their homemade soup--it's worth...
