This place looks so cute from outside, and online. The older waitress with the blonde hair was so unbelievably rude to me, on a takeout order $20 for a philly cheesesteak and a soda, (wasnt ā€œdiet cokeā€, it was coke zero, but she didnt bother to ask me if that was ok) with a tip, I got to my car, open the container, it had YELLOW CHEESE on it! with peppers, that i asked please do NOT put peppers on it. The photo online must be an error. Who puts yellow cheese on a philly steak??? The place was EMPTY, and she not only put in my order wrong, this older blonde waitress that took my order scorned me when i came back in, saying,ā€THAT’S what you ordered, MAMā€! I feel like im in the twilight zone! as a foodie from upstate NY, just passing through to try different restaurants & bars. Maybe you’d have more patrons if you treated people kind and cared about the food you were selling, like you’d have to eat it. It doesn’t take much. The dark haired lady behind the bar was very nice and understood, fixed the issue, but she did say the philly cheesesteak USUALLY comes with ORANGE cheese. I’ve never seen a philly cheesesteak with orange cheese. Never, in 49 years, and I’ve been all over. Even the restaurants in the carribean know how to make a philly steak, if it’s on their menu. I showed her the photos online, and she said,ā€oh, that’s out ā€œfrench dipā€, theyre labeled philly cheese by other people, who ordered it! Both photos. Anyways, i got my $20 sandwich & left. I asked for a couple packets of ketchup for the fries and the older blonde waitress put a bunch of MAYONNAISE packets in the bag. It is Wednesday, it must be wacky wednesday, here. Had this waitress not come up to me and make me feel like it was my fault, i ordered wrong! said,,ā€mam, thats what you orderedā€. There’s no winning here. I probably would’ve passed on writing anything, but this place is pricey, and i do not mind paying for decent food, many people don’t mind paying for a decent experience. People need to know before spending their hard-earned money here. The whole bottom of the new cheesesteak bun was soggy soaked with old-rancid-tasting oil. a bunch of salt to try and cover the rancid oil flavor. I saw the little guy in the kitchen scraping the oil down the hatch with the same flipper he used on my steakum sandwich. It was bad, at this point, i tossed it in the garbage. The couple bites that i did take made me feel sick to my stomach. For less than half the price, There’s fast food up the street. you’ll be better off, they’re friendlier, too. just very sad. They could have a gold mine here if they did something right. If i had a cute place like this, on a lake, with a nice deck, you better bet the quality of food, and the friendliness of staff, a patron would have a completely different...

I went here on Mother's Day which was combined with a Birthday for one of our guests. We called ahead and were told they do not take reservations and that there would be a 30 minute wait after 1PM. We arrived around 1:30 and the restaurant was mostly empty. We were told to sit at a high-top near the bar while they waited for a table. Odd since there were several empty adjacent tables that they would only need to slide together.

During the wait, we were never offered a menu or a drink though we could have walked over to the bar I suppose.

After a 20 minute wait, were taken to a cramped table where we all kind of squeezed in. The server took our drink orders and managed to get those wrong. A beer was missing, two teas were requested with lime and had none and there was an extra coke no one ordered. The missing beer arrived 10 minutes later after repeated reminders.

The server took our orders. Between us, we ordered the Mahi, Grouper (both grilled), a Shrimp Po'Boy, wings, and fried shrimp dinners. Starting with the grouper, it wasn't grouper. It wasn't grilled. It was fried (on a flat-top) catfish, fallen apart and scraped into a pile. The fries were dense and likely cooked in rancid grease which wasn't hot enough. The Mahi was dry with no trace of being grilled. Neither fish had grill marks or any indication of having been grilled. Just a fried appearance. The fried shrimp was bordering on inedible. The shrimp were not deveined and the batter was so thick (and spicy) that the shrimp looked like hushpuppies. The interior was goopy raw batter and the outside was burned. One shrimp came with no fries even though fries and a side salad were requested.

I give this food one star at best. Everything seemed frozen and fried in old, cold oil. The prices were high for this quality of food.

One of the beers we ordered was also flat. Bar Rescue needs to come to this place and whip these people into shape. The management is poor / non-existant and there just isn't any thought about giving paying customers a good time and good food.

We should have known to turn around and leave after we came in and smelled the burned rancid oil. Prices are ridiculous for the quality of food. And, as a final cherry on top, we had to wait 37 minutes for our food.

Overall, I...

The 2 story restaurant sits at the end of the street, next to a public boat ramp, descent amount of parking and plenty of boat docking available. Very easily found for out-of-towers. The views of the lake were gorgeous. We went on a Saturday evening around 5pm, just between the rush. We were seated quickly, out on the screened in deck. Thankfully they have heaters outside and everything but the screened door was plastic sealed to cut down on the chilly breeze that was cutting across the lake. I’m sure during the summer, when the plastic is down it offers a nice cool atmosphere. Our waitress took our drink orders and served them almost immediately. (Rum Runner/Corona) We both ordered there ā€œdinner specialsā€. I got the mahi-mahi with an island dipping sauce, a salad, baked potato and green beans/bacon. He got the surf and turf which came with an 8oz steak, covered in garlic shrimp, a salad, green beans/bacon and a baked potato. Descent sized portions and cooked to perfection. Only recommendation would be for more seasonings on the steak. Our waitress was very attentive, checked on us often and kept our drinks full. I ordered a Hurricane at the end of our meal, very tasty, but not nearly as strong as the Rum Runner. Laid back atmosphere, never rushed and very private. After dinner we took a stroll on the dock out to the water. They have additional seating outside and a bar area at the end of the dock for boaters. This place looks like it could be hopping during the summer time. Bathrooms were private single rooms, clean and well stocked, 3 total (mens/womens/unisex) situated by the front door. Overall we had a wonderful dinner experience and we will be back this summer to try it out. Well...

We were there on a trivia night so they we pretty busy. Met some local folks who bought us desert (Rev Cruz-Martinez). A very cool place on the lake in a quaint small town. What's not to love about that.

We had lunch at the 3 Bananas in the spring of 2025. Our first impression was of a nice older style building, overlooking the lake. It had character to go with the nice location . It even has photo opportunities like the big yellow chair out front, which does take a nice photo, with or without people. Inside the restaurant has a similar vibe. I guess it depends on your taste, but we liked it. But a word of warning: it is very loud inside, even when there is not a lot of people. It just echo’s around the room. So if noise bothers you, you may want to consider sitting outdoors on the porch. There is one out back and on the side of the building. And they have a nicer view of the lake. The wife had shrimp and onion rings. She said she enjoyed them. I had wings. Unfortunately, my wings had little flavor. That forced me to use a lot of blue cheese to give them flavor. I ran out towards the end, and left behind the last wing or two. But the wings were of good size. I would even say, larger than most places. Prices were arguably fair. Depending on ones opinion or outlook. Our server(s) were very good. I think it was the owner who also came around more than once to check on us. 3 Bananas does take credit cards. I guess they did not in the past. I think I even spotted an ATM machine for folks looking to use cash and may not have as much on hand as they would like. I did not look close to see if it was working, but there was a machine there. All in all, it was a nice lunch. Maybe a little loud. And maybe it was just a bad day for my wings. But we did enjoy our time there. As such, we’ll more than likely be back in the future.
