I placed an order online to have food delivered to my home (2 miles away). I cancelled the order at 9:02pm. Here is the timeline:
6:22PM- Placed order for $60 (including over 20% tip for driver) 6:22PM- Received email with receipt and a follow-up email stating the delivery would be around 7:52PM. Ugh, okay, they are usually a little slow so it is what it is. 8:21PM- Called to check on the status and informed them that it's been two hours since I placed the order. They gave me a song and dance about people not showing up for work and that it's out for delivery. Okay, no problem. All is good, I get it. Benny's is on vacation so they're the only game in town right now. 8:59PM- Called to check on status, informed them I ordered at 6:22PM and at 8:20ish they said it was on their way. They called the delivery girl and said she is just leaving now. I hit the brakes and asked how long the food was sitting since I didn't want cold, soggy food. He asked if I wanted a discount, I said not if my food is cold and gross. I asked for a refund, he said if I take the refund I can't have the food. I laughed and said I don't want the food. He promptly gave me a refund.
The conclusion: I worked in the food industry, I always tip over 20% and am nothing but polite and professional. The problem is they failed at every expectation they set. Most people would have cancelled their order as soon as they saw an hour and a half wait time. Benny's never took longer than an hour to deliver in the 10ish months that we've moved here. We order Loduca's a few times and every time they were an hour or later. There was always zero communication about delivery times until after you place the order (online). The customer service was always pretty vanilla.
My Advice for the business: Whoever is in charge of your order management should either be trained or fired and replaced. There is absolutely no reason to wait more than an hour and a half for delivery, let alone 2 1/2 hours; I don't care what the circumstances are. If you want to reach out to me and chat more about how to actually make your business successful, feel free to contact me. You have my number.
My Advice for general consumers: Beware when ordering online. I repeat, BEWARE. I suggest calling the order in and picking it up onsite if you want their food that bad, or eating in the restaurant. There are better restaurants in the area with much faster delivery times that will actually meet your...
Read moreLike most of the reviews on here this place is expensive for just most bar food. The waitress was polite although not very knowledgeable about beer selections. I ordered a Summer Ale based on her info and she said they only had winter ale. I then asked what amber lagers they had and she said well we have this one here it looks like it has the same in it. I did not have my spectacles so I could not see the fine print (old people). So I tried it, took one sip and it was horrible. I told her when she came back I did not like it, she took it to the fat guy in the back (no name) and came back. She then suggested another choice but never mentioned anything about the other. I chose another brand. When the bill came I looked at it and the original lager was on there for $4.50. I asked about it again and she said she would tell the Mgr. When he cam over he was already on the defense and had ZERO customer service skills. I told him I was not paying for the first one because I was not happy and I only took 1 sip. He took the defensive stance and said well you ordered it, you should have looked at it and you drank out of it so you have to pay for it! Meanwhile the oldest of the waitresses (no name again) chimed it and was like yeah you have to pay for it fella. I then said to him OK I agree I ordered it but I was not happy with it and I think its fair that we split it 50/50. His response was I don't make the decisions I'm not the owner. WOW!! You can't make a decision for $2.25 big fella? You're definitely worth your weight in gold! POOR CUSTOMER...
Read moreDecor was tasteful and clean. Great music playing at a good level so you could talk but added to the ambience. Had their bang bang shrimp appetizer, chicken fracese, alfredo w broccoli. Included with the meal was a salad of mixed greens, carrot, tomato and purple onion. There was a huge amount of greens and I appreciated that it wasn't all iceberg lettuce. Lettuce was crunchy and no wilted pieces found. It was good but would have been better with some more carrot, tomato and onion. Chicken Francese - seemed to be a fresh vs frozen chicken breast. Choice of pasta. Lemon butter sauce was fantastic. Portion size was huge! A whole chicken breast. Enough for 2 or take it home along with the extra salad for lunch the next day. Won't lie, the chicken breast was a little dry but stikk tasty. Alfredo w broccoli- broccoli was cooked perfect - not mushy, lightly cooked. Portion size same as the chicken francese! Shrimp was lightly spicy. Fyi - This isn't bang bang shrimp like you may get at a particular restaurant chain. Cooked perfect. 6 in the apoetizer. Nice sized shrimp. No room for dessert but based on the display case, they had a nice selection. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Cane to table quickly. Checked in with us with appropriate frequency and quickly offered to go containers . Brought tab at appropriate time. Did not make us feel rushed. Would definitely go...
