Positives: Service and atmosphere were fine. Friendly staff that check up on you regularly. Drinks were fine also. Negatives: The food... Starting off with simple chips and salsa, the salsa was flavorless and straight water. With the main course, I ordered an arroz con pollo. This is typically just a chicken breast, rice, and queso. While waiting for my food, the table next to me sent their food back for being undercooked. This was a red flag. When my plate arrived a minute after ordering, both the food and the plate were piping hot. This was almost certainly premade and then thrown in the microwave. It was extremely tasteless to support that theory. Instead of getting a simple dish, it came with chicken, a tiny bit of rice, mushrooms, tomatoes, bell peppers, "special sauce", and parmesan cheese? Unsure who gave the greenlight on using monetary jack and grated parmesan cheese on a Mexican dish but they don't need to be anywhere close to the kitchen. If by "special sauce" they mean water then they were spot on, the entire dish was basically a tasteless soup. I picked around for the chicken and luckily it wasn't undercooked so I thank them for not giving me salmonella. Would not recommend or anyone...
Read moreMy son and I both had the steak and chicken fajitas, the steak was a little over done, and the chicken was in chunky instead of strips. The glass for the margaritas was very heavy, but both the lime, and strawberry was very good, and strong. The salsa and chips that was brought out to us did not have much flavor, but was very spicey. The service was not good, and we waited for a while for even someone to take our drink order, and then waited 45 minutes for someone to take our dinner order. They were busy that night, but I did see a lot of playing around in the kitchen from the help. I did not see they paid close attention to the customer's. It had been awhile since I had been there...and it may be awhile...
Read moreDon’t stop here. They had a pretty good review so I figure it would be a great place to have lunch. I was wrong. Our sever was not very friendly. Food was ok but the carne asada plate consisted of 3 small pieces of steak, a smearing of beans, a spoonful of rice, three uncooked green onions and pico, sour cream, and guacamole. You’re probably thinking that seems like enough food maybe but for $13 dollars! I won’t make this much longer but the camarones a la diabla weren’t much better. Bigger portion but it was in a tomato sauce.... anyways I’ve been to the casa de oro in Perry and definitely would go back to that one. This one...... yeah I...
