For me to find their website to actually write a review only two minutes after my husband and I tried this food should say it all. The food here was nothing that I expected. The possible misrepresentation was clear throughout my whole meal and deserved a mention for anyone ordering from their menu. Regardless of what an authentic meal may be certain things are expected a certain way when people order. For example, bruschetta (one of my fav apps) as I know it is a cold dish and does not include heat, olives and melted cheese...the menu should read "Hot Bruschetta". Then the same for the buffalo wings which anywhere else would require buffalo sauce. What I got was wings in a spicy brown (yes I said brown) sauce and nothing about it was buffalo at all. Thinking that it had to be a fluke so I should try the pizza...I ordered the house special which should have been chalked full of meat and all I tasted was onion and peppers on what looked like a deep dish pizza. Being that I didn't eat much of anything else I broke open the Penne Carbonara that I purchased to save for the next day hoping that this would be their strong point and all I tasted was oil and butter (I actually regretted not ordering the Dominos Carbonara pasta)...so down to my last resort and still hungry...I reached for the hard dough bread and quickly moved to the salad...so tonight I had a 3rd of hot olive bruschetta, a half a wing in some kind of brown spicy sauce, two bites of a slice of vegetable pizza, a fork full of oil and butter pasta and a 3rd of a small salad. The highlight of this meal...the balsamic dressing. So if you like good dressing you would...
Read moreMore than liked actually, but, would like to see atmosphere be better, more resturanty than fast food. The thick paper table cloths have got to go. Excellent meal, good attentive service. Had Veal Marsala and linguine with marinara sauce, olive oil with bread, and a glass of Bud. Do not often find resturants offering a variety of veal cutlet preparation these days. Drove from New Haven just to go there (2nd time in 3 months) and well worth the trouble. Price compared to Italian Restaurants in New Haven, noticeable difference. Haven't had pizza there since it was a smaller Greek Style pizza restaurant 35+ years ago. As far as pizza goes, my favorite at the moment, is Toni's in Willimantic - small, crowded, always busy and never disappointing (Frank Pepe's is plain in comparison). back to ABC, just nice to go to restaurant with a large variety of Italian-American food...
Read moreMy wife and I stumbled upon ABC restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were very pleased with the service, the chef accommodated my request to modify my entree to my liking. Fresh bread and a glass of red wine were brought to the table to enjoy before our meals arrived. Both entrees arrived with great presentation. I was impressed with red sauce it was light, fresh with a hint of basil. We are looking forward to our next dinner at ABC. Support your local...
