The young server was really nice. However, they were out of orange juice. I requested iced tea instead and it had 1 little piece of ice and tasted like dirty water. Then, when we tried to order, I wasn't allowed to add more than two toppings to the build your own omelet but I could delete 2 on another omelet to get the same thing. Then we were told there was only enough hollandaise sauce for 1 of us. When I went to the 1 bathroom to wash my hands, I asked the guy behind the counter who operates the cash register for both the liquor store and the restaurant if they sold any orange juice in the liquor store. He replied, "it's a liquor store". As if liquor stores don't sell orange juice for mixed drinks. Then there is the atmosphere. It feels like you're sitting in an old grocery store, because you are. They left the refrigerators there and just covered all of the doors with real estate and lawyer ads. The whole experience was not good. We will not go back.
Just to add to my first world problem post... I have been coming up here for over 40 years. I am not complaining about things that are out of line. I don't care about well water. I drink well water and don't have a problem with it. You just watered down your tea so bad that that there was no tea flavor. I went to another café down the road and they didn't run out of any of these things. They also weren't rude when I asked them questions. They planned accordingly. They also had a nice environment that wasn't full of advertising and makeshift dividers. They were kind with great service. Thought and time was put into their place. Your place is poorly managed and just a plain dump. Don't take it personally. There are plenty of other places that get it right. Learn from it and move on. From your response, it is apparent that you don't take criticism well. Good luck to you. I hope your...
Read moreWaited 1 hour for an omelet. Served with frozen strawberries and canned pineapple. My husband served a gravy smothered country steak that was not like any other gravy he had ever had...not good. I asked for a water and never got it. $18 meal and left hungry. I know this is a small business and I fully support small business, but please atleast serve good food so it is worth the wait. I will be supporting the Chicken Shack and Pickled Loon exclusively from now on.
Edit to my original review and comment to the owners response. I would have loved to request a remake of my order, but did not have another hour to wait. I ordered an egg white omelet with veggies (the Narrows Scramble) that came with frozen mushy strawberries and pineapple with powdered sugar and one piece of toast for $15.99 and 3 pieces of bacon ala carte for $3 = so really $19. Also, forgot husbands toast. I'd like to say you get what you pay for but clearly not the case with both our meals. Yes, we need small business, but please provide a meal and service that is worth paying for - what was served was false advertisement. Calling your customer a liar is not very...
Read moreThere were 4 adults in our party. We walked in at 10:30 on Thursday morning, place was empty. We were greeted right away. The staff was very friendly and our waiter had some hustle! One of us ordered decaf coffee and he said it would be a few minutes because they had to make some. They were eager to please which was nice. The food took about 20 minutes and as we waited four more tables filled up. The food was presented well and tasted great. We all had a different breakfast on the menu. Everyone agreed we should come back....
