I might be a little bit biased because I am German, but this place is very wonderful. The location in the Idaho mountains is very scenic and is ideal for a day or weekend getaway from e.g. Boise. The family owning this business came from Germany a couple years ago and are very warm and welcoming hosts. The food is for sure the best German food I have had in the US so far, as authentic as it gets with the available ingredients.I need to mention the āSpƤtzleā, they were exactly like my grandmother makes them. The āLeberkƤsā wasnāt my favorite, might have been a different style than what I am used to and expected, but still tasted pretty good. All the other food we had was very good , the prices are fair and the service is quick. I didnāt have a chance to try their German beer, but the selection looks pretty promising. There are some cute traditional German details incorporated into the decoration, but itās not too stereotypical which I liked. If I had anything bad to say, I would, but Tante Emma is really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish you the best on your new endeavor. We do need more dining options in our little community. However, we were NOT impressed. The remodel of the space is terrific, a lot of work went into making it beautiful and functional. Food was sub-par at best. I am German and quite familiar with the traditional foods. This does not hit the marks and was quite disappointing. Just not good, very little flavor and not satisfying at all. Once our lunch was served, never saw any staff again. There was only one other customer in the store, so it was not busy. They just seem very hands off when it comes to customers. Seems as a start up, you would be interacting with your customers, getting feedback etc. Everyone on their cell phones upon entry should be a red flag in retrospect. We like to support our locals, as we are local, but we don't plan on a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe randomly stumbled upon Tante Emma in the middle of the mountainsāand it ended up being one of the most unforgettable meals weāve ever had. The food was absolutely out of this world! Every dish was bursting with flavor and felt like a warm, authentic hug from Germany itself. From the crispy schnitzel to the creamy spaetzle, it was perfection on a plate.
The fact that we found true German cuisine in such a remote spot made it feel like a magical little secret. The atmosphere was cozy and charming, and every detail felt genuinely European. It was like being transported to a little Bavarian village without ever leaving the mountains.
Tante Emma is a hidden gem, and weāre already planning to come back. If youāre anywhere nearby, this is a must-visit spot. Authentic, delicious, and totally...
