if i could give it a 0 i would. edit. taking a fake ID is 100% understandable. considering i was not at the table when the drink was ordered i didnt even know he had used it. me nor my other female friend are underage. we are both 21 and didnt try to order anything to drink due to the fact that i was driving. what is not understandable is the owners coming back to our table repeatedly to yell and scream over a fake ID. we ordered our food AFTER the id was taken and planned to stay and eat. we decided we wanted to leave after the FOUFTH time that our table was approached. ONE cuss word was said and he immediately apologized for it.the owner called him a “smartass” as we were walking out of the door which was completely uncalled for. not at all do i think using a fake id is ok. but its also not ok to sit and harrass a table of people for 45 minutes because ONE of them did something wrong. we felt uncomfortable and were not even rude to the waitress after she came and apologized for giving his id to the owners (which is the right thing to do) i told her we were not mad at her and i am also a waitress and totally understand. when the other owner came out to YELL at him for apparently “being disrespectful” he apologized and said he wasnt trying to be disrespectful at all and was sorry if it seemed that way. the both of you decided to continue to come to the table multiple times and after the fourth time we said we wanted to just leave to try and deescalate the situation and u made us stay and wait for food that wasnt even on the table yet. to reiterate my point of this review. i completely understand taking his id. that was not the problem. the problem was the way we were treated for it. as for you saying the police have my identity thats perfectly fine considering i did absolutely nothing wrong or illegal in the situation. “3 underage people” didnt come into your restaurant like your employees review stated because the 2 of us are both 21 (which im sure you can double check with the police since they have my name) i did not deserve the way i was talked to and neither does my friend considering we were not the ones in the wrong. i cant control the actions of other people and personally feel like i should not be blamed for them. i even tried to talk to you both privately to try and see what the best option was to fix the issue. if we were so “disruptive” to other customers why make us stay when we wanted to leave. i feel like if that were actually the case you would have made us leave. he even said to you both “would it just be best if we left” and you replied by saying if thats what we wanted to do we could but we were welcome to stay and eat our food and after we said we wanted to pay for our appetizer and leave you made us pay 45$ for food that wasnt even on the table yet and hadn't been touched. then when we were walking out he simply asked if he needed to stay and wait on the police and you rudely replied by yelling at him. thats what our issue was. not that the...
Read moreUPDATE. 7/13/24 I returned to try Drifters again. I will say this time was great! The service was phenomenal and the food was really good. I ordered the Trigger Fish Sandwich and it was unbelievable. The wife had the Pork Chop and it was cooked perfectly. I will say they addressed all the areas I mentioned that needed improvement previously. If Drifters keeps this up they will be around for a long time.
Being new I believe they are still working the bugs out, overall a decent experience and I will go back in a month or so to see if it's running like a well oiled machine. For the food I ordered the boom boom shrimp for an app, I do not recommend it even though it is a "Drifters Top Pick" it was obviously frozen breaded shrimp that reminded me of Gordon's frozen shrimp. They added a sweet chili sauce that was decent. For food I tried a little bit of food from mine and my wife's plates to get a taste of the menu. The house salad was good, no meat but many places do not put meat in a side salad I was not disappointed. I ordered Fried catfish with fries and hushpuppies, my wife had blackened shrimp with green beans. I will start with the shrimp, very mild blackening it wasn't over powering but for some they may want more I felt it was just average, the green beans were very good, they had good flavir with the seasoning that was added. The fired catfish was pretty good, had mild seasoning in the breading and the catfish was cook just right not over or under cooked. The waffle fries were hot mostly pieces not much waffle to them. We tried the homemade banana pudding and it was good definitely would order again. Overall it wasn't a bad experience especially for a new business, as I stated before I will try it again in a month just to do a comparison. One last note with them being new they are still working through everything so the beer menu was limited to Bush light and Natural Light today. Staff was friendly and attentive food did come out a little slow but they were busy and it was the dad before Mothers Day. I look forward to trying Drifter Bar and...
Read moreTypically, I don’t take time to write reviews. But since our decision to eat at Drifters was based on the reviews we found on Google, I want to share our experience. We thought we were off to a good start because the bang bang shrimp that we ordered as an appetizer was really good. But then everything started going downhill from there. As our food was being served, the server brought it to our attention that the sweet potatoes that we each had ordered were small. She voluntarily offered that they could replace them but it would be a few minutes until they prepared more. With the entrees sitting in front of us, we didn’t want to get a potato after we ate the rest of our meal. My husband requested for them to bring him a regular baked potato instead while I decided to make do with what I had. The server went to get his potato and brought it out promptly. The problem is that she didn’t ask what he wanted on it and brought it out with sour cream, which my husband does not eat. He didn’t want to wait for yet a third potato, therefore he did without and gave the potato to me since my sweet potato was so incredibly small (I was able to get one bite from it, literally ). The regular baked potato was edible but tasted like it has sat for a few hours. Next issue: the main entrees. My husband ordered ribeye. Based on reviews we read, he thought he would get a delicious steak. What he got was so charred on the outside that he could barely eat it. I ordered the redfish. I did not like the sauce that comes with it but luckily ordered it to the side. The blackened redfish was good once I put a little lemon juice on it. As we were paying, we told the server our issues with the meal. She apologized and offered to give us another steak to take with us. We declined because first we are traveling and don’t have a way to travel with perishable food and second we have no reason to believe another one would have been any better. On a side note, I would like to add that there were no issues with the service we received Date of dining: Sunday...
