Whoa... What to say... Don't know if this was an OFF night, but for this experience, I have few positives. I like to start with these tho: the server was pleasant, and there seemed to be several local customers supporting this restaurant. The negatives...stick with me... We waited about 10+ minutes just to get a menu. After some time, we gave our drink and food order. A little time later, the server asked to take our order... no, not a repeat sentence. We had to tell them that they had already taken our order. SO -- ordered sweet tea, but got unsweetened tea. When finally had the chance to tell the server, they were willing to replace, but this never happened. The server brought our appetizer but no utensils. (Don't these usually come with the menus?) There were open butter packets sitting on the table from ?... Ordered fries with the sandwich and asked for ketchup -- no ketchup ever came, but no worry, as the fries were over-fried and dried out -- ketchup would not have helped. The rest of the food was so-so, the best I can say. Then, the 'icing on the cake', a fly landed in the one drink we ended up sharing -- a glass of water. Many of the booths had deep tears in the seat covering with springs showing...sit at your own risk. This could be a cool place, but owners have a load to do!

My wife, granddaughter and myself were here on Saturday, August 26 for dinner. I found them on Google Maps, under "places where the locals like to eat." A great decision to go there for dinner. This is what I call a "Hole in the Wall" restaurant, but don't let that fool you or put you off. There are no linen napkins on the tables or service on fine china, but I'm sure you won't be disappointed! We weren't. The staff service is excellent! However, they have such great food with very generous portions and the prices are more than competitive for the dining experience you will receive. I had their Corn Beef Rueben on grilled marbled rye, with their home made deep fried chips and a cup of their home made Mushroom soup. Campbell's could take a lesson from their soup maker! My soup in a glass cup is below. It's a little place with big flavors and superb tastes. Don't let the beat up looking furniture fool you, these people know and understand food. They make everything they can in house and only buy what they can't make. Take a chance and you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Do yourself a favor, pass up Bob Evans, pass up The Cracker Barrel, a mile away is a diamond in the rough that you will be glad you found. If you blink , you will pass it up, but if it breakfast you want at a price you can afford and be full all day, the Filling Station does not disappoint! The portions are satisfying and the service and the prices are a local hidden jem. Pancakes as big as your head is not a lie, the homemade sausage with just the right amount of sage really brings you back to true home cooking at its finest. In fact, all the breakfast items you will think mom, herself, is in the kitchen, just as she did when you were a kid! A absolute must try!
