We live in Lakewood Grove and have passed this restaurant many times when leaving the Gettysburg entrance or dropping off our daughter at Lakewood Elementary. I decided to take my son out for lunch and wanted to try their pho to compare it to other local Vietnamese eateries.

Service: The first thing we encountered when we walked in was the owner's unfriendly demeanor. He had a serious "resting grumpy face." What struck me as odd, though, was that his attitude seemed to improve when non-Asian customers walked in. Two other groups of Asian customers arrived after us, and the same cold attitude was directed toward them—it's as if we were all treated as beneath him. It was a curious and somewhat uncomfortable dynamic.

Food: My son ordered the Pho Tai (sliced beef), and I had the special combo. Unfortunately, the broth was quite bland, and I had to add a lot of hoisin sauce to get some flavor. The noodles were fine—hard to mess those up. However, the herbs were a letdown. We received just one small stem of basil for both bowls. I had to request extra herbs and again given a dirty look. The meat, tendon, and other beef cuts in my bowl were good, but nothing stood out. Overall, the meal was decent but not exceptional. Perhaps the owner's attitude contributed to the lack of enjoyment.

With better Vietnamese options nearby and nothing particularly special about this place beyond its convenient location, I can't say I'll be returning. The building's decor and facade were nice, though, which adds a bit of appeal. But, ultimately, it was an average...

Pho Ton is an absolute gem! I accidentally ordered the wrong pho and discovered a new favorite – a delightful surprise that speaks volumes about the consistently fantastic offerings at this place. The pho here is not just good; it's downright delicious, earning the title of the best I've ever tasted, and I'm a frequent traveler on the lookout for culinary excellence.

What sets Pho Ton apart is not just their exceptional pho but also the incredible quality of their water – it's unreal, super fresh, and remarkably clean. A refreshing touch that enhances the overall dining experience.

In my adventures as a top 10% restaurant reviewer, Pho Ton stands out as a Houston staple for pho enthusiasts. This place has mastered the art of crafting mouthwatering bowls of pho, making it a must-try for anyone in the area.

Fun fact: Pho Ton doesn't just serve pho; they serve an experience. From unexpected favorites to unreal water quality, every visit is a culinary journey. Cheers to Pho Ton for winning the hearts (and taste buds) of this avid food explorer! 🍜🌟 #PhoTonAdventures #PhoExcellence...

Turns out I went into the wrong spot due to someone else's neglect, not their fault. This is not a review on the quality of their food, BUT THEIR SERVICE. I stood inside this place for 15 minutes waiting to be helped, only to have these fools walk past me, look at me stupid and not ask me if I need help, a seat, etc for almost TEN MINUTES before asking me a question and walking away, without confronting me for another 5 minutes. Learn some manners for crying out loud!! When a customer walks in you help them, not stare at them for ten minutes before you finally get the guts to ask "how may I help you" before rudely turning around and walking away before I can answer you. that's time I'm never gonna get back, and now I won't go there as a customer because your customer service skills are GARBAGE. I had better customer service skills when I was 16 working my first job at domino's pizza, cmon now... I'm now a happy customer at the other Vietnamese restaurant 2 lights down, where they actually greet you...

I have lived in the area for some time and finally decided to stop by. I was barely greeted when I walked in, however ordered an order of egg rolls, the guy taking my order told me there would be a cc fee due to the total amount, I asked him “is there was a minimum charge limit”, he said “yes $10”, completely understandable. So I said go ahead and charge me two orders (putting my total at $11.37). Well I get an email from my bank asking me to verify a tip of $5 added on to the charge. I NEVER AUTHORIZED A $5 tip. I did NOT sign that on the receipt either, they took it upon themselves to add it on afterwards. This was a simple togo order. The food was decent, but they were four small egg rolls per order not full size like other places. Had they been noble and not took it upon themselves to add on a tip unauthorized, I would have probably came back to try other menu items to dine in and then absolutely provided a tip but after this I won’t be back.

I was born and raised in Vietnam and just moved to US a year ago and I have to say that this place has the best Bun (Noodles) I ever have since then. Their blood pudding are amazing!! They are soft and melted in your mouth just like the way they made it in hometown in Vietnam(i’m sure it’s difficult to achieve this level of softness because they are usually hard at other places and believe me they are not supposed to be hard). I have Bun Bo Hue today and Pho Ton has the freshest noodles in town. The noodles for this type of dish are round and fat and that’s what they served you! The broth is so good with flavor of lemongrass and chili sauce. Excellent service as well. 10/10. Highly recommended. And i definitely want to go back and try more dishes. Thank you
