I probably would give a 3 stars, but since new and the family seems nice, I'm upping it 1 star as to give them time to make corrections without hurting ratings.
The decor is nice, they have a stage, so I'm sure they do live entertainment some nights. Perhaps if you're a drinker and looking for entertainment, that would greatly improve your experience.
But I was here for lunch, because I was hungry and wanted something good and flavorful. The menu prices are a bit scary. I don't mind paying for good food, but I want good value for that money. The menu lists Chips and Salsa for $5.95, though I guess they also do them complimentary? As I don't believe I was charged for them. The menu also lists that Pico de Gallo is $3.95 which would be fair if they gave you like a pint, but it's a 1oz ramekin (like for ketchup)! But again, I guess to be fair they didn't seem to charge me?
I ordered the Pollo a la Plancha, which is $22.99, quite a bit for a chicken dish, but again, I will pay if it's good. It was one and a half thin pieces of chicken, and comes with rice, beans and salad. I feel for the price it should have been 3 pieces of chicken. I don't eat refried beans, so asked to omit them, and I'm allergic to dairy (and don't like anything creamy) so I asked for no cheese, and asked for "no ranch or anything on top of the salad", and the waitress said "oh no, it doesn't have anything on top, just salad" When it arrived it had a dallop of sour cream spread all over the top of the salad and guacamole as well. Neither were listed on the menu, and you would think she would have mentioned the sour cream after my previous comments. I can give a pass for guacamole, since some place call their guac "salad". She was pleasant enough about getting fresh lettuce and tomato when I asked.
However, I did ask for grilled onions, and would have been happy to pay for them, but since no beans, no cheese, you'd think as cheap as onions are they'd give them to me. Imagine my surprise when she said, oh, I don't think we can do that! What?! So she said she would ask the kitchen, she came back out and said they kitchen said no. Hrmm. They clearly have grilled onions in a Mexican restaurant, right? Very odd.
The chicken was "lightly" seasoned (I find Americanized Mexican food really isn't seasoned much so not surprised), but with hot sauce there was nothing wrong with it, just too skimpy of a portion for $23. The rice was piping hot (temp) which was good because most places rice is cool/luke warm at best. The lettuce, pico were fresh.
The chips looked greasy/overcooked, but they actually tasted good, a bit more nutty tasting more like a pita chip. The salsa was first thing I saw when I got seated and in concerned me, it looked straight up like Tostitos mild salsa out of a jar. However, it did have a unique smoky flavor and was a bit addicting. A bit too sweet for me, as I prefer more acidic fresh tomatoes flavor, but decent.
In the end my bill was $25.xx, so I don't think I was charged for the pico or the chips, just entree and drink. Still, with leaving hungry, $30.50 (with tip) was a bit to pay for a small lunch.
I wish them well, I'll maybe try back in a...
Read moreThis was by far the best experience I had at a restaurant. From beginning to end.
While visiting Delaware we come across this restaurant. I decided to call and ask about a wait for a party of 8. The gentleman on the phone was well spoken and very polity. He offer to have the table ready for us once we got there and it was.
The waitress was amazing. She was on top of things and willing to help. Everything came out promptly and as expected. Not to mention extremely nice.
The owner/ cook came out and apologized for not having chilaquiles verdes in the many but offer to make them anyways. They really were amazing. I’m born and raise in Mexico this is for sure authentic flavor. The owner was extremely nice very attentive just all around a very nice lady.
She also introduce us to her daughter. I believe the co owner and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Very nice and attentive. They have a great place obviously management is doing things the correct way.

Read moreFor a person that eats out at least 5 times a week w/ my husband I would say this is definitely the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Great clean relaxing atmosphere. Tables r not all squished together like most mexican restaurants so u can enjoy ur meal w/o feeling cramped n rushed. Awesome service. Our waiter went above n beyond w/ recommending some really fresh delicious dishes even providing us with 3 more dipping options for our chips other then just the usual salsa n chips you would typically get at a mexican spot. The food came out fairly quick n was plated beautifully. I love 2 c food plated nice and organized on clean authentic dishes bc it tells me the chef, staff, n owners not only care about what they r serving but how they r serving it. Cost-wise I didn't feel we spent more on our late-lunch then we normally would. We did tip our waiter more than usual but that was bc he deserved it. He was a great waiter. We will definitely...
