I just stopped by last Monday afternoon to sit down and dine but was advised that it would be at least a hour before we would get our order. This because they had been slammed by call-in orders and were super busy. This super annoyed us because we had driven about 40 minutes to go to this really great Thai restaurant. And we were being penalized because we actually drove to the restaurant just to sit down and eat there, and they were giving preferential treatment to the call-in orders over folks who actually came in to sit down and eat at their place. Hence the reason for my edit of the restaurant. They still have them great food, I'll give them that. But they prioritize the customers who are the call-in orders vice folks who come in to sit. Sorry that goes against what I believe, that when you have a customer who goes to the trouble of coming in to sit down to eat, that customer should be given preferential treatment. So because of this, my family and two other families will no longer dine here. A small restaurant right outside the gate at Dahlgren's Navy base. Very good food for a great price! Not open on the weekends, which is a shame for myself as they would be my go-to place for dinner on the weekends! A group of 4 of us dined there last week; we tasted each other's dishes and were amazed, the food was that good! The portions are just the right size to fill ya up so don't go looking for doggie bags; the food is so good that there won't be anything left on your plate! Will I eat there again? Do bears ** in the woods? Of course I'll be going back! The is damned good and very reasonable. Plenty of parking but not...

I tried their Pad Thai dish today and it was delicious. Although I took the food to-go and endured the smell. Safe to say “It was worth the wait”
After a long day of work and working out, I ventured into a parking lot that could fit just enough cars for a car driveway. Living up to it’s name it has been around Dahlgren for years and I thought it was closed down!Turns out their hours are 11am to 8pm most days. Close Saturdays and Sundays.
The mom answered the phone and spoke great English while making sure she explained what popular items they served. As well as their add on; extra meat or spicy falvors. They also told me the estimated time and help me plan accordingly. Persuading me towards Pad Thai, I asked to have my noodles with shrimp, stake and chicken also known as Combination Pad Thai. 17 Dollars and no tip later the food was ready.
Walked into restaurant expecting a series of workers! To my surprise, the dynamic duo of mother and daughter had the building smelling good and the kitchen warm. I thanked them and like I normally do with sincere business owners, told them I will leave a review good or bad.
So bottom line, I ordered from a hidden gem of a restaurant that Dahlgren needs to invest in more. Whether its calling ahead of just for a quick grab, I recommend stopping by and...
Read moreI'm no connoisseur of Thai food, so I can't remark on the authenticity of the flavour profiles, but as an American who loves to try Asian cuisine of all sorts, this restaurant did not disappoint.
We came just before the lunch patrons (I couldn't quite describe them as crowds) started filtering in, and the two ladies who served us were friendly, polite, and helpful; all the marks that make for a lovely dining experience.
My husband ordered the Mussamun Curry with chicken, beef, and pork, while I had the Pad Mee with chicken. We shared the fried tofu with sweet and sour dipping sauce, and a Thai tea. Everything was fresh and delicious. The ginger porridge given to us before the meal was also good, but since pregnancy symptoms of near-constant nausea, I've been out-gingered, and could only manage a bit of it.
The prices and portions were very reasonable, and we spent less than $30 on the both of us with left overs to spare!
We most certainly plan on coming again, and trying more dishes, since our first visit was...
