I know what you’re thinking because I think the same thing, you’re driving to CO or NM and you always pass this place because an all you can eat buffet off the highway must be a ticket to food poisoning… well I didn’t want fast food and wanted to support a local business, so today i decided to be brave and tried it out
And it was good! It’s was about 13$ for a buffet, it was a small but big enough size that always had food (I took pics of 2 of the 3 buffets).
Most importantly, based on the way the server interacted with everyone, almost everyone were regulars. A place that gives you food poisoning doesn’t get regulars.
Is it amazing, no… I’ll be honest, but is it as good as the all you can eat Chinese buffet in your big city: Yes. That’s why I give it 5 stars since it’s exactly what the sign says, a cheap all you can eat buffet. It meets and exceeds expectations for cheap buffet food.
I came in with low expectations ready to walk out and just get fast food if it was dirty but it was clean and the staff were attentive. To all out of towners driving through I can say it’s not as scary as you’d imagine, it’ll actually be pretty solid buffet food for a really reasonable price and you can support a local business in a small town. My only issue is that none of the buffet was labeled so I wasn’t sure what I was getting but I could make guesses since it’s standard Chinese buffet food
If I have time like I did today I’d...
Read moreThe descriptions of what are in things are not on the menu, so I don't recommend ordering online.
I was surprised that the sautéed green beans were full of onions and carrots. I'm allergic to onions, and that was stated on another order. So I am not sure why they didn't call me.
The house fried rice had bbq pork in it, which wasn't stated. It just said pork. Not usually a big deal, but the fried rice appeared to be boiled, and the red dye was coming off on other items. I'm also allergic to red dye #40.
The fried rice was weird in other ways. It had broccoli, corn, and mushrooms. Add that to the apparent boiling, and everything kind of tasted a bit like boiled mushroom.
I did attempt to call them, but their line was busy. So I threw the food out and...
Read moreWe stopped at 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 29th on our way back to New Mexico. We decided to try this restaurant as they had 3.8 stars. We should have moved on when there were only 3 cars in the parking area. The food was cold. We told our waitress, and she volunteered to microwave it for us. They were cleaning up, so we asked how late they were open and were told 10:00 p.m. When we wanted more water for tea, we had to find a waitress to get us the water. The dessert area had very few items and looked as though they were probably there all day. Then a gentleman came in and wanted to watch the game on TV, I guess, (we were seated right under the TV), so they turned the TV on very loud right above our heads. Would not recommend this place on...
