Golden Chick — Restaurant in Dallas

When I first started going to this place three-and-a-half years ago it was a lot better. But in the last six months the quality of the service has just gone straight to the toilet. They had a light pole and somebody hit the parking lot and it took months and months and months for them to fix it, it was all bent over and looked trashy. This past week or two they had some guy that's been sleeping in his car on the property overnight and I haven't seen anybody do anything about it.

But mainly it's the drive-through service that is terrible.

When you get up there they've got one spot to order the food at but they don't ever use both of their Windows to make the process smooth where you can pay the first window and get your food at the second.

Employees don't speak properly so when you try to listen to them over the microphone speaker it's hard to hear them clearly. The restaurant is right next to two busy roads, and the employees don't speak louder to be heard over the traffic.

Even when you tell them that you can't hear them clearly they repeat the same thing at the same volume with the same lack of enunciation. They don't seem to be educated properly.

When I went to the drive-thru yesterday, I pulled up and I waited a long time without anybody saying anything. This was in the afternoon when the store was open for business. After waiting and waiting and waiting at the drive-thru, I finally said hello, is anybody there?

A voice answered, give me a minute, with a rude tone.

That was a hundred percent not what they're supposed to say and that's a hundred percent not how they're supposed to say it.

That waited and waited and waited again. And then I said hello? Is anybody there?

And with the same rudeness, the same boy said give me a minute! But it was more rude.

After waiting some more, I finally said what is the problem? Is anybody there?

The same road voice answered me with even more rudeness, I said give me a minute! And they started to come up with some sarcastic response but they caught themselves halfway through their rudeness.

I replied, all I'm trying to find out is if anybody's there and what is the delay? We've been sitting out here waiting to order and there's cars behind me. What is the problem?

Employee was rude again so I told him I'm going inside, get the manager.

I went inside and the manager wasn't ready. The manager was standing over by the drive-thru window doing something I don't know what.

I told the employees to go get the manager all they did was mumble and point towards the drive-thru window saying something like, she's there.

I looked at the employee who was working at the drive-thru, who had been a jerk to me, and I gave him a harsh look.

It's completely unacceptable to treat a customer like this. Like this should literally never occur.

I talked to the manager and I was ticked off. I explained to her how this should NEVER happen. I explained to her what the employee SHOULD be saying, and I explained to her my history of having worked at multiple restaurants (and also having worked the drive-through myself and being very good at it).

The manager kept telling me yes, thank you for letting me know, I've handled it, I'm talk to the employee.

I told her that the employer should be told to get off the clock, clock out, go home and think about what he did. And then, IF he has a job tomorrow, he better come back with a better attitude.

This restaurant is going the same way as McDonald's down.

You can't get quality service anymore here or at most Oak Cliff restaurants staffed by lazy teenagers ...

They're super disrespectful, they're not very smart, and most of them would prefer to stand around looking at their phones and smoking weed.

OK Cliff is continuing to decline and decline. Best...

Update: If I ran my business like this place does, I would be out of business.

It has been awhile since I have tried this location (see below) and when I went today , it was even worse. I had to repeat my very simple order multiple time, especially that I wanted unsweet tea not sweet tea. Different amount of syllables, easy to tell the difference if you are paying attention. I also ordered an extra sauce, because that is one of the best things here - the Zing sauce. He finally repeated it back, got the sweet / unsweet tea issue wrong again.

When I pulled up to the window he leaned out and started yelling at me to pull back! I thought I was about to run over a kitten or something, but it was because he forgot to give the person in front of me back her credit card, and wanted her to pull back so he didn't have to run after her.

At the window, I watched him yet again, pour a sweet tea for me. I repeated my order yet again, and when he gave me the total of $10.71 for an $8.99 meal I thought it was high, but figured it was for the extra sauce. When I asked to make sure (again!) that he included the extra sauce, he said no, he forgot and tried to ask me for more money! When I questioned why this was more than the price that was on the menu where you order, he said that it was because prices went "up that morning." Seriously. I realized this was not going to end well, so I asked for the manager. Nyiacha was rude, aggressive, said that's the way it was, and if I wasn't willing to pay (they already had my money) than I wasn't getting my food. I asked for her name which she said was Nyiacha and she said that I should should meet her at the curb. At this point it was beginning to get frightening. She was yelling at me and looking for a fight, and I wasn't going to give it to her. There was a price that was clearly posted where you order, and they tried to charge me more than what was stated. If they just would have said that I am so sorry and handed me the .39 cent sauce I would have called it a day, and happily been on my way. Instead this became a reason I will never go back, even though I do love their chicken, and will share the experience so others don't have to go through this. Shut it down!

Previous Visit: For the life of me, I don't understand how a place that only sells chicken can get my order wrong every time.

I paid for extra sauce which they didn't include, and even though I was very clear about the fact I wanted unsweet tea, they gave me sweet tea. No silverware for the sides. I guess that's why there is always a help wanted sign out front. I really want to like this location, but they just can't...

Worst golden chick experience

Golden chick is always my go to and like any other time I ever go to golden chick I get my usual 4 piece spicy tenders side of gravy and mc and cheese. At this location 410 W Kiest Blvd, Dallas, TX 75224 in particular as we walked in you could hear manager Alison screaming at her team how to do their job in such a rude way and right in-front of us I even got second hand embarrassment for the girls working there.. we started ordering our food and as I was speaking telling the cashier my order thing by thing Alison was screaming tender after gravy after mc and cheese right over me which was super un called for. The food came out rather quickly which was the only good thing about this place. As I was eating my CHICKEN TENDERS I but into my last “tender” just to hurt my lower sensitive teeth because it was a WING in tender form I don’t even know what it was because I always get tenders when I go to golden chick this was so unacceptable!! After this happened I make my way over to the cash register to confront them about THEIR MISTAKE and called the manager Alison. She walked over to me and I explained to her how I have sensitive teeth because of a car crash I had a couple weeks ago and that this was the worst outcome I could have possibly imagined And is unacceptable and she proceeded to tell me “you got lucky you got a lucky wing in your order” and just walked away..! And told her team to just give me a spicy tender. Thinking she fixed the issue.. yet I didn’t leave the register and she came back up to me and asked me what I wanted her to do about it, that she gave me a tender already. But the damage to my teeth was done and the fact that I had to go through that just to get a new tender and attitude from her? All I asked was for a refund or a new 4 piece spicy tenders to go but she went on to say “no I won’t do that you got my name” and WALKED AWAY FROM ME AGAIN!! This lady should not be managing this or any golden chick or anything in general I asked for a supervisor because she was IGNORING ME keep in mind I’m still standing at the register asking for a supervisor and got completely ignored and never got to speak with the supervisor. If you’re a supervisor at golden chick in this location please get back to me because I love golden chick and this...
