Long Creek Fish Fry — Restaurant in Dallas

ME AND MY FAMILY USED TO LOVE GOING HERE TO EAT, THEY HAD EXCELLENT FOOD AND IT WAS USUALLY FAST SERVICE. WELL EVER SINCE THEY CLOSED THE ACTUAL RESTAURANT DOWN AND JUST WENT TO CARRY OUT THEY HAVE COMPLETELY CHANGED!!!!! I PICKED AN ORDER UP FROM THEM ON SUNDAY NIGHT 1/7/18, AND IT WAS ABOUT 830 PM THEY CLOSE AT 9 AND ARE CLOSED ON MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS AND DONT OPEN TILL WEDS AT 2PM BUT.....WOW AT CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS DAY IN TIME IT'S JUST REALLY REALLY REALLY GONE OUT THE WINDOW I TELL YA!!!!!! GOT DINNER THE OTHER NIGHT FROM LONG CREEK FISH FRY BC I HAD BEEN CRAVING SOME SEAFOOD, WELL THE SALAD WAS FROZEN, MY SCALLOPS WERE STUCK TO THE PLATE AND THE BAKED POTATO WAS SO DARK AND BLACK AND HARD U COULDN'T EAT IT. WELL I JUST CALLED TO TELL THEM ABOUT IT AND THE LADY THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE WAS SO FREAKING HATEFUL AND RUDE TO BEGIN WITH AND I EXPLAINED TO HER ABOUT THE FOOD AND SHE SAID Y DIDN'T U BRING IT BACK TO US, I SAID WHEN I GOT HOME AND FOUND OUT U GUYS WERE CLOSED AND NO ONE WOULD ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED!!!!! SHE GOES, "WELL OUR POLICY IS U HAVE TO BRING IT BACK TO US AND WE'LL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO" AND I SAID U GUYS WERE CLOSED AND UR CLOSED ON MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS SHE SAID "WELL U SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO US AND THERE'S NOTHING WE'RE GONNA DO ABOUT IT NOW AND PRETTY MUCH SAID I WAS LYING ABOUT THE FOOD." I SAID HOW CAN I BRING IT BACK TO U GUYS WHEN UR CLOSED AND I'M NOT LETTING IT SIT IN MY FRIDGE FOR 3 DAYS SMELLING IT UP. SHE SAID, "WELL TO BAD WE'RE NOT GONNA DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT NEXT TIME U'LL BRING IT BACK." I SAID THERE WON'T BE A NEXT TIME WITH THIS RUDENESS I SAID U WON'T BE GETTING ANYMORE OF MY BUSINESS, SHE GOES "WELL THAT'S FINE TOO." I LOVED EATING THERE BUT AFTER THAT I WON'T BE BACK THERE'S NO SINCE IN THE HATEFUL, SMART MOUTHED, RUDENESS I ENDURED FROM HER!!!!!! I DIDN'T EVEN ASK TO REPLACE MY FOOD I WAS JUST CALLING TO LET THEM KNOW!!!!!!! UGHHHHHHHHHHH NO MATTER HOW POLITE U ARE TO PPL THEY ARE STILL VERY VERY VERY RUDE 1S OUT THERE!!!!!!!!! OH AND THE LADY WOULDN'T GIVE ME HER NAME, BUT SAID U CAN JUST CALL ME DONNA YEAH DONNA...... WITH HOW SHE ACTED NO WONDER THEY SHUT DOWN THE EAT IN PLACE AVE ONLY WENT TO CARRY OUT BC THEY ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS LEFT AND RIGHT!!!!!! WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE THAT THEY SURE WON'T BE STAYING OPEN TO MUCH LONGER AND THAT'S PROBABLY Y THEY CUT THEIR HOURS AND...

I love it I love the people the customers and my co workers!! Everything about Longcreek is AWESOME! Going to seriously miss it!! Can't believe what is happening to one of Gastons Best!! First and foremost! Let alone a piece of history since 1948 I believe! I like many other gaston county residents have grown up with visits to Longcreek weekly monthly and under my circumstances we went at least twice a year one of them being during tax refund time! Lol it's a piece of gaston county history! It's a landmark!! And shame on the ones who refused to come to agreement to keep it going!! You not only let down the jobs if at least 30 people!! But you let down the community! Those near!! And far! I've got regular customers who drive over an hour n a half to come dine at Longcreek!! As I'm sure other servers do as well!! I know there are many that come home to visit family and then their tradition is a visit to Longcreek!! I don't mean to step on toes! However whoever you are that's been unwilling to work with the current owner and his crew to keep this landmark of history open... SHAME ON you! Idk who you are u can just only imagine that you are selfish and thinking of $$$$ signs. I'm sorry to say that I feel like tradition and loyalty is way more important than $$$$ signs!!! Bc you are taking away people's traditions!! People livelihood! Those who've been coming there every Thursday for the past 20 years!! Yes explain it to them!!! That YOU WERE Just SELFISH !! I'm thankful to those who've struggled to keep us running as long as possible!! They've put forth their damned best efforts to keep us all in a job and all our customers happy!! I'm sorry that whoever is responsible for the closing of this great traditional landmark!!! That you will live with a heavy heavy burden for all those that your decision has hurt in more ways than u can fathom!!! No apologies for my strong feelings nor for expressing them!! Thanks to you know who you are for doing your damnedest to keep us there as long as you did!!...

This place is falsely impersonating the Long Creek Fish Fry we once enjoyed. Don't waste your money. The old rating I gave below was truthful and accurate and was posted long before Long Creek was sold and under new management. This is my new review.

After Long Creek was sold...

The first thing we noticed on the seafood platter was a higher price and less oysters. I'm talking half as many less on a seafood platter that costs more and not nearly the quality. You ask them when placing your order to please fry the oysters lightly. They say they will but never do. They overcook them everytime and have cut the quantity in half while passing along a price increase. This restaurant is not the Long Creek it once was. We ate at Long Creek fish fry for over 45 years and this place should be named Long Shot instead of Long Creek. As in they will not last long purposely overcharging and under performing the quality and consistency that was a staple of the Long Creek fish fry we once enjoyed. This place is an imposter and I advise everyone to avoid their so called seafood restaurant.

Simply the best fish around. Hands down . If you love oysters this is the place. We ask them to cook our oysters "fried soft." We like them not so crispy or what we call over cooked. On a seafood platter the oysters are soft and juicy, they taste incredible. Along with fantail shrimp, devil crab, and catfish fillets, which I always substitute for the perch this is the best seafood platter you could ask for...
