IF YOU HAVE CELIAC OR A FOOD ALLERGY PLEASE READ!
Edit to reply to the owner's comment: Generally people do understand that some cross contamination may occur, and while your menu does state that, the act of re-serving The same salad that had been requested to be remade is unacceptable. A person may be able to take trace amounts, but not the amount that would pass through by direct contact with the food item. Your comment displays a serious unwillingness to take responsibility for your actions and reaffirms my personal commitment to not frequent your establishments. I just truly hope that nobody ever ends up harmed by these practices.
I hate leaving negative reviews on small businesses, but unfortunately this time I must.
My wife and I have been patrons of Bailey's a couple of times now with this being the first time we've ordered takeout. While waiting for our food, I observed two things very unsettling, both centering around the chef.
The first was his demeanor towards the staff. In the first few minutes of me waiting there, I observed him berating two waitresses and the other cook. Having worked in kitchens, I understand it's a high-pressure environment, but yelling at people doesn't solve anything, and one of the waitresses was nearly in tears over the treatment.
However, more unsettling, and the reason for this review, a waitress came back with a salad topped with focaccia. She stated that a customer had told her they had celiac disease and had requested that the order be remade without the bread. The chef rolled his eyes, turned around, grabbed another plate, and moved the salad on to the new plate, leaving the focaccia behind, sprucing it up with a few more vegetables, then sending it back out full of cross contamination. If you are reading this and ate here at about 1pm on August 15th, 2025 and you experienced a reaction to the food, please feel free to contact me should you need a witness.
Under ordinary circumstances, I wouldn't necessarily leave a review for this kind of thing. However, when I inquired with a couple of different waitresses, I discovered that the offending chef was the owner, Larry. Unfortunately, that means that there is no oversight except for the opinion of the general public.
Well I'm not saying that everybody should avoid eating here, I am certainly suggesting that the owner rethink the way he treats his staff, and I would encourage those with severe food sensitivities and allergies to watch the food being prepared to ensure that nothing...
Read more5 stars is easy, even with the price of the food. Is it expensive for dunmore? Yes. But it’s Constantinos, so it’s kind of expected. The atmosphere and service are great but that pales in comparison to the food, specifically the baked goods. It looks like they use electric city coffee (delicious), and their bagels are soft and loaded with toppings. But their baked items? Wow. Sure anyone can bake, but often times products are bland or boring. These? Nope. Popovers - fabulous. Muffins - oh my gosh, but the danishes??? The fruit and cheese danishes??? Someone in another review called them a “religious experience” which I thought was embellished but I totally get it now. They also have other foods like full farmers breakfasts and a variety of drinks if you don’t like coffee including tea and lemonade.
Its extremely easy to get here with good parking on street and off. I also took my baby here and it was a gentle and quiet atmosphere for us to enjoy together. Easily accessible bathroom, seating inside and out front and back of the building at both tables and couches/loungers plus a cute little community board for local advertisements and events. 100% handicap accessible (including the bathroom) though the door isn’t automatic but I’m sure staff would be more than happy to help.
All in all, I don’t leave such long reviews like this for anywhere. Go here. Support this business. Treat yourself. Encourage growth in Dunmore. 100%...
Read moreI thought perhaps the waitress was new. But the friends I came with said no she's been working here for a while. I asked if she was the owner,(thinking maybe she was filling in and didn't have much server experience), they said no shes the server.I knew this would be a long frustrating service at that point. This was my first time here, one of us asked a few simple questions about the pop over and the scone because the way she described the pop over made it sound like a scone, she described them as both being bread but it depends on your mood... ok maybe she doesn't know any adjectives other than bread and good. That's fine she took a leap in the dark and ordered a pop over was ok, fine, not great. She messed up my other friends order of a hot chocolate with whipped cream and syrup and never brought her fruit. She was so slow and there were only 4 tables and there were 2 servers. When we finally got her attention to ask for the bill she said ok and took 20 minutes to bring it. Then after another 15 minutes went by we got up and paid the bill at the cashiers desk myself. And explained that we all had places to be so we couldn't wait for her any longer... would I come back... I'd have to have 2 -3 hours to blow for a muffin and a coffee, but I wouldn't go...
