I went to round top tonight and was very disappointed by the service I received. First of all the girl was quite rude. Then when I went to pay the total was over $11 and she refused to accept a credit card and said that the total had to be at least $15 to pay with a card. Which by the way violates the consumer protection act which states that the minimum purchase requirement can’t exceed $10 dollars. She then proceeded to tell me that if I tipped her $4 then she could run it as a credit card purchase. By the way I’ve been to round top several times this summer and made the same purchase that was under $15 dollars with a credit card and never had a problem with other servers. Today we introduced a Costa Rican guest to this renowned ice cream parlor which I've been visiting since my childhood. The server patiently explained more than once all the flavors as I translated the ingredients into Spanish. She kindly offered my guest a sample of Hocus Pocus. At my request, she retained our order in memory until we had a chance to sit down and enjoy our ice cream at leisure. We were touched by her dedication to making sure we were taken care of and to be certain, her excellent customer service will make the name of Roundtop Ice Cream more famous (in Costa Rica)! We stopped at round top in damariscotta to get the kiddos an ice cream. We waited 10 min for the ice creams (5 of them) when we went to the car i unpacked the bag and was missing 1 ice cream. I went back to the cashier and she stated i did in fact order 5 and said they would get it right out. The lady that handed me the bag of ice creams stated she packed the 4 that i ordered and was literally arguing with me. The cashier stayed i ordered 5 so the other lady went to make the ice cream i waited another 10 minutes until all the other customers were served.
