Worst experience ever. My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine’s Day- our fault for trying a new place on a special occasion. What really aggravated me here were their portion sizes. My boyfriend order chicken parm- assuming he would be receiving a decent sized meal. Not only did he order chicken parm, but he asked for extra chicken AND extra pasta (of which clearly we’d pay for the extra). I ordered homemade pasta with marina sauce and vegetables. I have a dietary restriction and can not consume milk or butter. Assuming the gentleman understood.. the moment our meals came out- not only did I have Parmesan mixed into my meal, my boyfriend had HALF OF A SERVING SIZE of pasta. Now I know my serving sizes, a REAL serving is rather small. However at restaurants I’m expecting at minimum a decently sized meal. My 190lb boyfriend received LESS THAN a true serving size of pasta. It was less 3 bites of pasta. I’m not exaggerating. And his chicken? A small 4 oz. Of THIN chicken parm. Where’s the extra chicken we asked for? Or the extra pasta if at minimum- NORMAL sized pasta? Clearly the waiter did not listen nor care. We’ve received larger portions at OLIVE GARDEN for comparison lol. This is Valentine’s Day- you should not be skimping on meals for customers. I spoke to the chef and explained how he had ordered more pasta and chicken and 15 mins later he brings a small bowl of extra pasta lol. Anyways safe to say we will...
Read moreWe decided to come here for dinner after it was named one of the best Italian restaurants by CT Magazine. Before that I’d never heard of it despite in the danbury area for years. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s nice inside, though a bit sparse. It was pretty lively when we went, which was a Friday night, however we had no trouble getting a table. The menu is on the smaller side but there are still plenty of options and there were a bunch of great specials. We ordered a fried burrata to start (which was one of the appetizer specials) and I got the tagliatelle ragu (another special) while my mom got the papardelle. Everything was delicious, even down to the table bread. The ragu was akin to beef stew but it was very meaty and the portions were good. My mom said the seafood was tasty and liked that her fish was light on the sun-dried side. The burrata was amazing and the tomatoes it was served with were all incredibly fresh. We finished with the tiramisu which was light and tasty. While I did not get our waiter’s name i just want give him a shout out because he was so friendly and personable. Over all, everything was good. Was it top Italian in CT good? Not in my opinion. But it was good. I don’t know if I would go back...
Read moreSmall, unsuspecting resteraunt on Pembroke road on the way to New Fairfield that absolutely stunned myself and fiancee. Dinner started non-descript honestly very forgettable Italian bread that was only good for dipping in sauce of my upcoming meal. This was the only disappointing aspect of the evening. Our waiter, who was also a manager took the time to explain a wonderful slate of specials and wine, we chose to split a salad and I got Linguoni and clam sauce. Starting with arugula and a very potent lemon vinaigrette that was an excellent combination of flavors along with a pinch of shaved parmesan cheese & pepper. Delicious.
Next came what I can only describe as possibly the best fresh made pasta and excellent clam sauce with freshly chopped garlic and ample amount of fresh clams. I was shocked how excellent it was. Perfectly sized portion that was filling but not overly so. Based on how pleased we wee on our meals we decided to share an order of creme brule which also disapoint. Perfectly singed with a wonderfully rich custard. A delicious meal for a very affordable price, great service and lovely overall experience. We look forward to going back...
