Danville Country Club — Restaurant in Danville

RESTAURANT REVIEW...A rather disappointing Mother's Day Brunch began with reservations made in advance for a party of 7. Upon entry there was no one at the hostess station, even though a rather large crowd was gathered waiting to be seated. After 10 minutes someone appeared to inquire if we had a reservation. After several bewildered looks from the hostess we were confirmed and seated at a large, well appointed table. Server soon appeared to take drink orders but no mention, explanation or invitation to the buffet. Mimosas arrived warm and non descript. A nice variety of buffet foods was offerred but more than one of the dishes was in dire need of refreshing and several were limited to the last serving. Serving spoons were caked with cold leftover food and were impossible to use as well as unsightly. However, what food was available was tasty. Dessert proved to be the same...limited and in need of a refresh, especially the bread pudding which was completely gone with the exception of the sauce. No one appeared to be in charge of overseeing the buffet, even the gentleman at the turkey carving station seem oblivious. . Staff appears to be lacking proper training. However on the upside, the food was flavorful, the dining room attractive and nicely appointed. Perhaps things will improve in the future as there is much potential. I will come again but with less...

I was there early for the Kiwanis club meeting. I knew I had to leave early so I put my order in early for a Danville salad. This is a salad doesn't take a rocket scientist to make a salad with fruit on it. She brought it out 4 minutes before I had to leave I asked her to put it in a box. she proceeded to take care of everybody else rather than put my salad in the box so I could take it so I got no salad no lunch I don't think...

Its a really pretty golf course they have a pool and a restaurant I'm not sure if you have to pay to golf or be a member I'm pretty sure you can eat at the restaurant though without being a member either way it's a beautiful place if your looking for a country...
