Sail Loft is a hidden gem located on Elm Street in the Padanaram Village area of South Dartmouth right on the Apponagansett River. There are parking options right on the street in front of the building or behind the restaurant in addition. The dining room, large bar area, and additional tables located in the back of the building in a winterized cozy porch area is a large and intimate space that is deceiving upon first walking in but is spacious and inviting. The restaurant is decorated with a modern nautical design and the staff are friendly, efficient, attentive, knowledgeable, and they are able to provide recommendations from the menu and list of specials. They are open daily for lunch beginning at 1130 and during the week they serve until 830pm and the bar remains open until 10pm. On the weekends they serve until 930pm and the bar stays open until 11pm. My husband and I are familiar with many of the other restaurants in the area that are included in the same restaurant group and we’re never disappointed. We had dinner here on a Wednesday night and we took advantage of the special options. For $35 each person could pick an individual appetizer, soup or salad, main course, and a dessert and there were 2-4 choices per course. We enjoyed shrimp cocktail, a fresh, crisp, and perfectly portioned Caesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs, a fish entree, and a homemade brownie sundae and a delicious deconstructed carrot cake dessert that was incredible. Everything was delicious, the timing was perfect, our server was great, and the price was also a plus. We’ll be...
Read moreLocal great. Service great. Onion soup. The rest of the food is just awful. I ordered a Cesar chicken wrap with truffle fries. First, the wrap bread was fresh, and that's fine. Second, the salad was nothing more than lettuce. If there was dressing in it, I could tell. (This meant the wrap was completely dry and tasteless), and finally, I expected sliced or minced or chicken with flavor. Nope, it was a heavily breaded, deep-fried tasteless chicken cutle... ok now to the 🍟 fries. I'm not really sure what was wrong here. They either used previously freeze fries that had been refrooze or something else. Frankly, I couldn't tell. The consistency when you bite into them wasn't right. Add to this the truffle oil was either rancid or old... end product 👎. The server, who was great, did replace the fried immediately upon my comment with russet mashed potatoes, and they were great... at this point, well, let's just say it was time to go.. oh, and my wife had loaded nachos, which, while they weren't terrible, had no cheese and too much...
Read moreDidn't realize I was going to Hooters. Been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. I'm not generally one to comment on modesty, or lack thereof, but WOW. Both times almost every single staff member (seemingly all women) were wearing incredibly short shorts. Both times there were families present, and nothing about the place states that it isn't a family restaurant. The staff should have to wear a more modest length of shorts while at work for the sake of at least seeming professional. Food was mediocre at best. Our appetizer came with the wrong sauce and our waitress didn't even notice until she came to clear it off the table. Can't really speak for the dinner as neither of us could taste anything beaides an incredibly overwhelming amount of lemon. We did not get the same dish. Compared to other places in the area with similar prices and food, I'd probably go somewhere with more professional...
