On the way to Fort Morgan we stopped at Tacky Jacks for lunch, and afterward my family disappeared on me while I was paying the check. I went looking for them and poked my head into this cozy ice cream parlor called Pelican Scoops. They weren't there, but... ice cream. As soon as I found them I dragged them into this shop so they could get some dessert. And of course, that was a bit of an excuse, because this Fat Daddy is all about some ice cream, especially when I see Sea Salt Caramel on the menu. Austyn served us with a smile, and I saw this sign suggesting I post a Google Review. Well, that's one of the hats I wear, so here I am. Here are some photos of the sign on the front, the inside, Austyn behind the register, and a vid of the view from the balcony in front of the shop, where you can almost always get a view of the shop's namesake, out there dive-bombing scenic Mobile Bay for some tasty fish. Contrary to the sign on the door, the pelicans were kind enough to leave our ice cream alone, though if there were any fish flavors all bets would be off. (Sorry, pelicans, no fish flavors). My wife got buttered pecan, and I got the sea salt caramel. Both of these flavors were stunning. It was my daughter's birthday, so she was quick to order the birthday cake flavor, and the fact that she never offered me a taste should tell me something, and the look on her face as she ate it told me the rest. My grandson has a severe dairy allergy but they had snow cones (HULK was a big hit). As a quick recap, this little shop might have been a bit hard to find but it's well-worth the search, as the food was excellent, the atmosphere friendly, the prices reasonable and the counters spotless. Anybody stopping for Tacky Jacks should be aware of this 5-star follow-up. My family may live a ways away but we'll definitely be return customers.

It's a great little hole in the wall place right on the water and away from the busy region of Gulf Shores. They have shakes, sno-cones, and ice cream. The menu is basic but sufficient. A single scoop of ice cream is $5 and a double is $8, sno-cones are $6, and shakes are $7-$8. They have toppings for extra too. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is no indoor seating but there are plenty of spots to enjoy your ice cream including a bunch of porch swings overlooking the bay. There are other businesses on sitso to get to Pelican Scoops you have to go up the stairs to the right of Tacky Jacks and around the back of the building. Enjoy!

This was a fun stop for dessert after having dinner at tacky Jack's fort Morgan. The whole marina area is fun and this little ice cream shop is great and super cute! The employee working was super friendly and welcoming when we came in. Asked if we had any questions and if we wanted to try any of the ice cream. Several options sounded really good, but I ultimately decided on the birthday cake shake. It was super cute that she added a peep bunny on top! It was very good and my group enjoyed eating our ice cream while looking out over the water at the marina.

I had the absolute best experience at this ice cream shop, thanks to Austyn! From the moment I walked in, they greeted me with a genuine smile and made me feel so welcome. Austyn was incredibly patient while I asked about all the flavors, and even offered great recommendations based on what I usually like.

They clearly take pride in their work — the scoops were generous, perfectly presented, and absolutely delicious. Austyn went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, even checking in to make sure we were happy with our treats.

Customer service like this is rare these days. Austyn turned a simple stop for dessert into a memorable experience. I'll definitely be coming back — not just for the ice cream, but for the awesome service, too. Thanks...
