Good Eats, fun atmosphere! Stopped in Dayton for supplies while on a camping trip in the Bighorns. Cute little town! The Dayton Mercantile is a shop and café. The make really awesome hot sandwiches that are kinda out of the ordinary and really hearty—well worth the price which was not high. Also great service, lots of coffee choices. The shop is a mix of western antiques (the owner was a rodeo clown so there are really cool pictures on the wall) and there’s new stuff too—simple souvenirs like magnets up to nicer stuff and art.

Historic shop in a small quaint town near the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains. We stopped on our way back from a daytrip into the Big Horns for lunch and a chocolate malt. Nice outside sitting area with interactive historic buildings. Mining for the kids. We had chocolate malts and shared a grilled cheese. Both were great. Interesting shop inside with many items from years past. Definitely worth a stop.

Very cute little spot with some vintage finds, souvenirs, geology gifts and even a little area to 'pan' for neat rocks, tasty sandwiches and drinks with outdoor seating in the shade. If you need to make a stop to stretch your legs or grab lunch this is a perfect place

I remember this building when I was 4 years old and I am now 60 years old and this is my first time in the building since I was 19 years old.

It has changed!

Absolutely positively be sure to order a pizza it is cooked in a brick oven and if you have never had a pizza that was cooked in a brick oven those pizzas are dramatically different than ones you will get out of the freezer at Walmart or from Pizza Hut or Papa John's these are homemade pizzas cooked in a hearth. The place is very decorative very relaxed and the owners are exceptionally friendly and welcome you. You can dine alone and watch the big screen TVs or bring an entire group or large family reunions it has everything. When you are finished look at the one street town it's cute and has a great museum and then finish it out and continue toward the mountain there is a museum down there that is just awesome. Please be sure to get that pizza I don't care what kind of pizza it's going to be better than store-bought it's going to be better than Pizza Hut or Papa John's or Domino's I guarantee it if for no other reason visit the Mercantile for the...

We stopped for ice cream after our visit to Big Horns. Ice cream prices were great! Affordable stop for a family. They even gave us a free pup cup! I asked for a thick milkshake and it was perfect. The staff is friendly and all about customer service. Well done ladies! Great stop. Gift shop is well stocked and something for everyone. The restroom was clean and super cute. Easy trailer and RV parking too along the street. Coming down the mountain stop before the store and Sinclair gas station. After the store there is...
