Not really a kid friendly place unfortunately since it’s only restaurant in town so we got our order to go and I enjoyed my burger but my husband never wants to eat there anymore because his burger was burnt and he said it ruined the sandwich. But it’s a decent little place In town ( I can’t figure out how to reply but no not today about a month ago just popped up on my google to give a review. I had a steak there once that was really good but after my husband had a burnt burger I can’t get him to want to go there now. We don’t drink anyway but my 3 kids are all under age 5 so that’s what I mean by the kid friendly part it’s just more of a bar would be nice if had separate area for a family setting that isn’t right by bar. But it is nice to have a place in town finally.....

Went there a second time to try it out had to go back because they forgot part of my order. Coleslaw tasted spoiled. Cant say I'll ever go back at this point. Can get a better meal for less elsewhere. update decided to try this place for a third time because it was cold and only place close besides pizza. I was very specific on instructions to not burn the burgers. I can say they did do the burgers correctly this time. Burgers tasted good this time until my husband found a hair in his and about puked. The cheese curds were not good, they didn’t give us any of the sauces for takeout, .... I never recieved any replacement meal( I’ve never been there when owner working so I never asked for a replacement as owner said below to be fair) I paid every time I went and it was over 50 dollars every time so I can’t say I’m willing to go back after 3x of bad results, we don’t drink so the only reason for our visit was to takeout food. They have seemed too busy every time I have gone there so I wasn’t trying to bother anyone over getting free food I was just hoping they would get it correct...

A little, ok, a lot biased because I eat here almost everyday. Anyway, the food is always good to me. No place is perfect but they are close enough to perfect for me. I love the specials when they offer them and there is usually a choice that is much different than the other. The cook staff seems to revolve but I guess that this an industry commonality šŸ˜‘. The drinks are nice pours and the bar staff is stellar! Since they are a great place, they get busy. When this happens, you need to pull up your adult pants and behave accordingly. I’m always surprised at how adults can act like entitled children when they act out. Anyway, they have lots of events to draw folks like trivia night on Tuesdays, Sports nights for Super Bowl for example and karaoke night on Fridays. Bike nights in the good weather times.Sunday mornings are great if you want breakfast or custom bloody Mary’s for the adults. It is family friendly before 9pm in the dining room area. If you have too much to drink, you can always go across the street and grab a room.🤣 I noticed a patron ran the place and the town down because they got a ticket from the recently installed traffic cameras. That is a bogus comment because if you don’t break the law, you don’t get themšŸ˜‘. It’s just a good time gathering place with an easy going atmosphere. The recent addition of a pool...

Unless you like all your food cooked overcooked to the point of being pretty much burnt, I would avoid this place ! This has happened the last 3 times I have ordered from here ! Several years ago shortly after they first opened, I ordered take out from here & it was delicious. But the past 3 times I've ordered, the food has been burnt ! I ordered gizzards & they were so burnt they were inedible, same with the tenderloin. The mushroom fries I ordered - the coating was so dark almost burnt, & the mushroom itself was so overcooked they were rubbery & you couldn't even tell that they were mushrooms ā˜¹ļø. The regular fries had been overcooked or had set so long they were hard as rocks. It saddens me to have to give such a harsh review of the only place in our small town to get home cooked food. But after spending almost $40 for food that wasn't edible, I'd rather just order pizza or go to Adel to pick up food THAT IS EDIBLE & GOOD ! It would be worth the trip ! I'll NEVER WASTE my money again THERE ! Once it may be a fluke, BUT 3...

Got to enjoy some #Canadian style poutine at of all places in #America, De Soto, #Iowa (just outside of Des Moines) at a cool little spot just off of I-80 called Ambro’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill! Only a few miles down the road from the birthplace of John Wayne, Winterset, Iowa. The food was great and all the employees were so nice! Thanks to our great waitress Erin! #AmbrosRoadhouse

Random lunch stop right at 11am. Went with a high top table near the bar. There are several different seating areas/options. I wanted to stand so chose a high top. Nice bar decor with beer signs, vintage items, tins, etc. I was the only one there until about 1130. Then there was a steady crowd. Had the Amber Special which was chicken with cheese, mushrooms, bacon, lettuce, tomato. Very good! Fries thick but still crispy on the outside. Also very good. Breakfast offered all day. There were several things that looked good. Happy hour specials 3p-6p daily. Looked like they are closed Mondays. TVs and jukebox and arcade games and karaoke. Great variety of things to do. I ordered gizzards to go and my total was $30. Had a pop with my meal. So....3 or 4 meals for $30. Fair! Plenty of paved parking and a patio for nice weather.

Ordered the Rodeo Burger (pictured). It was definitely a handful and messy, but good at the same time. Overall it was a good experience. Place isn't the biggest by any means and it was fairly busy when we stopped on a Sunday for lunch, so much so that the only open table was in the very back corner next to a small refrigerator the staff needed to access regularly. So we did feel a little like we were in the way. Everyone was super friendly though so it wasn't like it was awkward by any means.
