I am not real sure what everyone is raving about??!! My family and I stopped there when we were traveling to Iowa because I believed these reviews and thought the place would be a great lunch stop. First the good, the waitress was super friendly and efficient. There were several people in the diner and she was doing a great job of keeping up. She is the highlight there! The food was average, nothing special to make you go to that dinky place. And now to the bad---the place is filthy! Read moreMy sister and I were on our 1st sister vacation, we happened on to this diner one night for coffee. The next morning we returned for breakfast before getting back on the road. When we went in they were very busy, another customer got us coffee. The customers notice our Texas plates on the car. Our order was taken, food came was good and filling. But the best thing was the other customers, made us feel very welcome. Told us stories of trips they had made to Texas or people they knew from Texas. (Nope ...couldn't eat it all) Big portion of cheeseballs (Yup... ate them all). Pop is by the can (fine with me). The menu and counter items (napkin, salt/pepper shakers) were clean (good sign of a clean kitchen). Gal was friendly and service was quick.
