Fisherman's Restaurant — Restaurant in Dedham

Yesterday was my very 1st time at Fishermans Reaturant in Dedham. I was quite surprised seeing it from the outside. when I walked in, what a differrnt outlook! The place is so cute! Fish decor everywhere, round vinyl bar stools to sit at the counter, or you can sit at a table! Our waitress, oh my goodness, was she 1of the abSoLute most SWEETEST women I've ever had the pLeasure of taLking to! (i have sucha BAD memory&cant think of her name!) but i do know she's been working there for a while now. She's also a widower. She made the experience of stopping in at a place to get something to eat, MUCH MORE enjoyabLe!(vs.how i feLt when we 1st puLLed up&saw the exterior of the bLdg.)! My friend & I wanted breakfast, & he asked if they served it aLL day, so the waitress asked whomever was back in the kitchen if bfast was stiLL avaiLabLe, &they said "ya sure for you guys!" -which I thought was a HUGEEE PLUS!! cLearLy they DONT serve bfast aLL day Long, but since my friend asked, they said sure! He got pancakes(&of course i had to try one)! Wow, was one of the BEST pancakes I've had in a LONGGGGG TIME! It was so fLuffy, yet had a tiny bit of a crunchy-butter-soaked crust to it! I got 3eggs over medium, bacon, griLLed engLish muffin&homefrys. The entire meaL was so incredibLy deLish & boy did it hit the spot! i will 100% he coming back here again in the future! I suggest this pLace to anyone Looking for a good quick bite to eat!

OH& it's NOT ALL ONLY SEAFOOD either...I couLd see why someone wouLd think that (because of the name of the restaurant)! They have great stuff, even for peopLe who DONT eat seafood! and i am 1of...

I visited this restaurant about a month ago and ordered two fried seafood platters, calamari, and the surf & turf and all were amazing. The woman at the counter was also very sweet. So despite the place being FILTHY, I went back. The second time was mediocre.

However, the THIRD visit this past Thursday completely turned me off. I ordered two broiled platters, calamari, and the surf & turf. I waited over an hour despite calling in the order ahead of time, ALL of the food was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. Plus, there was a fly in the cooking area. The broiled seafood seemed like it was fried. And it was hard. It smelled sour. The calamari had fries mixed in, and was honestly just like eating flour with some scraps of chewy calamari. There was coleslaw and tartar sauce in the box despite my request to leave these items out. The steak was cooked well done-not the medium rare temp that I asked for and very over seasoned to mask the poor quality. The haddock also smelled sour. I wouldn’t even feed the food to my dogs. It was gross!! I’m super disappointed. I never leave bad reviews but I really feel like this needs to be said. I would give zero stars but the counter help is very nice, and the first visit was good.

You know the second you go through their door you made a great choice. This place has been there for over 40 years. It is filled with photos of the proprietors and he was siiting at his work area behind the counter right next to his picture as a Fisherman. Behind the same area is a wonderful cook and possible owner preparing our order to perfection. I ordered Italian Sausage sub with grilled peppers and onions. It was so fresh and delicious. A real submarine style bread filled to the brim. My friend ordered Fish and Chips and we split the fried calamari. It was lunch time and we were not expecting a dinner size meal. It was, and the calamari batter was light, tasty and cooked spectacularly. We kept looking at each other as we stuffed our mouths. For the money, no doubt one of the bountiful and delicious fish and fries ever. Take home bag 🎒 was in order. Great people, wonderful food and modest setting made us instantly comfortable.
