Defiance Pancake House — Restaurant in Defiance Township

Dad told us of this place it is small but has great specials daily every Friday. We were eating there every Sat for over four months one issue was taken care of no problems. Great Burger's, noodles N tips, as to burgers would like them to go fixed differently as to bun not stuck on side when opening have to see it to Know what I mean. They have Great food service I give B+ like there quesadillas but not the slap of salad put on side there great size. I would like to to to beer batter cop, grouper fish sorry to say like Applebee's it's the only reason we go there. Over all I would give as shown four/4 stars needs to be bigger at least 100 persons. I would like to see specials change more often. Now that Shoneys is opening right there in front before them but to me I choose Pancake House. Shonys has breakfast buffet which we'll see if is any good like down South for as their other food no thank you Pancake House every time. One thing that did bother me which takes a lot is most of the crew speaks Spanish but for two females the owner three different times we had take out said not knowing I was Purto Rican understood and didn't like what he was saying. I forgive each time but remember it takes a Happy respected crew to make the business money as well as the crew, better it is busier it will be. Oh they have a great chicken fried steak as well oh ya. We moved but it may be same distance just haven't been there in a month. Make Outstanding food for an honest price and bussing will...

I took a group out for breakfast. They brought one of our parties the complete wrong order. Wouldn't give her the right plate Took the plate back to the kitchen and then brought it back to the table stating that the owner said we would have to pay for the wrong plate. Waitress was very rude about the situation. Will not be returning. Go to Kissners instead better food and excellent service! RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: Actually my review is CORRECT. She ordered the hobo skillet and was brought something else. YOU'RE RIGHT that she didn't want to pay the 2$ fee for the extra plate but I told her not to worry about it. So maybe the miscommunication was the rude waitress. 🤔 I told her fine I'll pay for it but we won't be returning again I'll take it home to my dog, and 2 people in my party watched the rest of us eat. She never came back and refilled our drinks. Another waitress actually offered refills and apologized to us multiple times about the waitress we had. Maybe next time you should go out and talk to your customers! I'm a business owner myself and that's how I would have handled it to begin with. No need to say please I will gladly never return as I stated in my review and to the rude...

Service was very slow due to a large carry out order...would've been nice if that had been communicated. Had to wait for sugar for coffee. Biggest downfall was improper names of menu item. Chicken fried steak is a southern dish....which doesn't actually have chicken in it....it's made with beef. When I pointed that out....waitress was determined to prove me wrong. The chicken cutlet which I received was ok....but not what I ordered. I asked waitress to pass information to management....highly doubt that happened. I won't be back.
