Harper's Sandwiches and Such — Restaurant in Delaware

I called around 11:30a on a Thursday and attempted to order 7 - 12" sandwiches for my co-workers. At first I spoke to a woman who soon passed me off to a man, who I assume was a manager. I was told they would have needed a 24hr notice for an order that large and they also didn't have enough rolls in stock. I thought this was suppose to be a sandwich shop? I settled for 6" subs after he convinced me it would be enough for one person. 45 mins later...! we finally got our subs and what a disappointment! The subs were nothing but dough, hardly any meat. The dough was so thick most of us had to eat our sandwiches open-faced to avoid getting sick. We will never order subs from this place again, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop is the place to go...

Well, disappointing... Our first visit to Harper's. I had the gobbler. The turkey was ok with ample helping but not too flavorful. There was a whisper of cranberry sauce and stuffing which was not enough to help. Roll was ok. My companion had a cheesesteak, and in contrast said it was very good. We shared a Joe's potato chip - bacon n cheddar - it was no bueno! I threw out much of the bag, sadly. Service was slow. Not all of the tables were available with bread trays sitting on them. So overall, cheesesteak good, gobbler bad, service meh, we expected a better visit. Note: this sandwich shop charges 4% if you utilize a credit card, and they invite you to tip although there is not table...

Because of the positive reviews here, my son and I decided to give this place a try. After all, I've driven by it every day since it was built and wondered if they were any good. So we went there based on yesterday's (Saturdays) closing time of 6:00pm. We arrived at 5:35pm, figuring we could just get something to go. The "closed" sign was up even though there was a person inside and the hours clearly stated 6:00pm on Saturday. The door was locked. You get one chance to make a good impression. We will NOT be going back to this place. They can't even honor their own...
