My family and I held a memorial lunch here on 04/16/21 after a family members passing. It was an unpleasant experience all the way around. First off we thought we were dining at a banquet hall but turns out we were paying to eat at a day care. The owner's children were running around being rude and obnoxious. They were loud, screaming, fighting and crying while we tried to have a memorial lunch during a sad time. It was absolutely mind blowing that the kids were allowed to do and act however they wanted because their parents refused to acknowledge their actions and refused to quiet them or discipline them in any way, which myself and others in attendance found to be rude, and disrespectful. You could see on the mortified and embarrassed staff's faces that this was a regular occurrence and the children are allowed free reign to act however they want without anyone being held responsible/accountable for their actions. That alone showed us that the owner's don't care about their customer's or there dining experience. Again many of us decided then that we will NEVER return there again under any circumstances. They claim to have "world famous" fried chicken but they changed the breading or something because the chicken used to be mediocre at best but now they apparently replaced the recipe and seemed to use substandard and lower quality ingredients. It's right on par with the rest of the bland and flavorless food options they offer. It's sad that a once proud Delhi institution that every used to run to has become a place in Delhi that people run from. If you're going to allow your children to run around and be obnoxious then your going to continue to lose business. Also if your going to avoid paying your taxes and keep the money then it would be wise to use that money to update your decor and invest in better quality food and ingredients. If you continue to not take accountability for the establishment being run into the ground then nothing will improve by any means. Also the owner comes off as very fake and tries to present himself as a professional and model Christian but his actions simply show that he is selfish and only cares about himself and has no regard for you or your dining experience. If you refuse to take proper control of your establishment then when the doors close again, chances are they won't reopen under current ownership. The only true bright spot of the entire event was the welcoming and friendly staff. I truly wish you and the staff and your establishment the best of luck. This is only my opinion but I hope this possibly opens your eyes to some things you may not have noticed or your ignoring. I'm sorry if this feels like an attack but I'm only leaving a snapshot of my experience, I'm not trying to discourage anyone from visiting but only leaving a review of...
Read moreThis was my first visit to The Farm, and to be fair, it might just be me, but with a name like The Farm, I was expecting fresh ingredients and homemade food. Instead, much of it tasted like it came from cans or was pre-made. The fried chicken was the highlight: crispy and flavorful, probably around a 3.5 to 4 out of 5.
The green beans tasted like they were from a can with some seasoning. The spaghetti reminded me of something you’d get from Gordon’s Food Services, and the meatloaf was bland and lacked depth of flavor. Overall, the food seemed under-seasoned, and it felt like the recipes may be geared toward an older or more health-conscious crowd.
As of April 1, soft drinks are no longer included with the buffet (per a sign on the door), but they’re available at the bar for a very reasonable $1.50. Unsweetened tea, water, and coffee are still included in the buffet price.
They also had their children sing hymns during the meal as part of the entertainment, which added to the family-style, faith-based vibe. The overall setting felt like a classic after-church lunch spot.
I actually enjoy Golden Corral and found myself thinking their food has more flavor and variety by comparison. The Farm might be a good fit for those looking for a milder experience, but it wasn’t quite what I...
Read moreMy parents recently had their 70th wedding anniversary and we wanted to celebrate with dinner along with about 25 friends and family on a Saturday night. We chose the Farm and I am SO GLAD we did! First off, I have to talk about the food. It truly was amazing. Carved beef, ham and fried chicken were delicious. The night I visited to check it out, they also had ribs on the buffet that looked super yummy. Too many sides to list. For dessert, 12 kinds of cheesecake were out, bread pudding and other good looking treats. Secondly, I absolutely must talk about the service. It is also amazing! Dan and Donna bent over backwards to accommodate our large group. With only a few days notice, they were able seat us together and comfortably. The bartender made great drinks! Even the kids clearing the tables were friendly and accommodating. Last but not least, I wish I had gotten the first name of the gal who was working the register at the entrance, because I would give her a loud shout out. She helped me keep track of my bill and my large group. More importantly she was genuinely sweet, welcoming and unrattled while doing so. I had a GREAT experience here and highly recommend it. All of this and so AFFORDABLE !! Thank you to the Elsaesser family and their great staff. Dee M....
