We’re right across the street at Amelia South Condos for the week and it was SO convenient to just walk across the road. We only heard what this hidden gem sells yesterday and six of us opted to give it a try last night. We ordered two Chicken Pad Thai and four Shrimp Pad Thai. The ladies with the Chicken both ordered spice level zero and it was perfect for them. No heat but absolutely delicious. The three other orders of Shrimp Pad Thai were spice levels of 1 and 2 and I ordered spice level 3. I really like spicy food but not ridiculously hot food and the level 3 was perfect for me. Good solid heat but bearable. You should definitely like spicy food though if you order it. The ingredients are clearly super fresh. The local shrimp were a good size, cooked in the wok to perfection and absolutely delicious. We also got three orders of the eggrolls, which were phenomenal. Since we’re right across the street we just got it to go and ate at the condo, but the weather was fantastic (it was almost 8 pm) and it would’ve been great to sit at one of the tables to eat as well. Please support this place. The owner Mai Mai has only been here from Michigan for a very short time. I’d love to see her have great success here. She is so kind and friendly and easy to root for. She deserves support. If you live anywhere on Amelia Island it’s worth the drive to try it. Heck, it’s worth the drive from Jacksonville where we live just to eat here. It’s the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Thank you Mai Mai and best of luck to you!

Eato Chef is an absolute must-visit if you’re anywhere near Amelia Island. I had the shrimp pad Thai, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. The shrimp is locally sourced, super fresh, and cooked perfectly. Every bite was packed with authentic Thai flavor and just the right amount of heat. I also tried the mango sticky rice, which was the perfect sweet finish—creamy, fragrant, and beautifully presented. The owner, Maimai, is as amazing as the food. She’s warm, welcoming, and clearly puts so much love and care into every dish she serves. You can feel the passion behind every bite. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure you stop by Eato Chef. Incredible food, great vibes, and a true highlight of the island!

If you have never been to Horrocks, it is a must visit while in Lancing!! They have everything you could ever need, but the best part is when It gets warm, and the beer garden opens. You can grab some craft beers and some Tai food from Eato Chef in the beer garden. Great place to relax and drink some beer and have some good food. I love finding these hidden gems. I had the Pad Tai with chicken. I love hot food and you can choose 1 to 7 with hotness. The hotter, the better for me after speaking with the chef, I ordered 5 on the hotness scale. OMG, it was hot. It was fantastic. My eyes and sinuses were watering, but man, was it good! If you like spicy food and good beer, you are missing out if you have not been here.

Alright, let’s set the scene. This wasn’t just pad Thai—it was a life-altering experience, the kind of dish that redefines what you thought food could be.

From the moment the box hit the table, I knew this was different. The aroma alone was intoxicating: a perfect balance of nuttiness from the crushed peanuts, citrusy brightness from a squeeze of fresh lime, and that deep, umami-rich scent of fish sauce working it’s-magic. The noodles—oh, the noodles—were cooked to a texture that can only be described as divine: not too soft, not too chewy, just that perfect al dente bite that absorbs every drop of the glossy, caramelized sauce.

Then came the toppings. The plumpest shrimp, kissed by the wok with just the right amount of char. The egg, perfectly scrambled and woven throughout like little pockets of richness. And let’s talk about the crunch—crushed peanuts and fresh bean sprouts adding that perfect contrast, all tied together with a subtle heat that crept up, I get level 2 💁🏻‍♀️never overpowering, just enough to make each bite linger a little longer.

One bite in, and time slowed. I forgot where I was. I forgot every other pad Thai I had ever eaten. This was the pinnacle. A dish so perfect that it ruined all others for me. Nothing will ever come close.

Would I eat it again? I would travel across the world, walk through fire, and barter with my soul for just...

It's been a while since I posted a restaurant/food review. However, my recent experience with the staff and owners at Chef Eato are worthy of mention. My wife and I have visited the Chef Eato food trailer located at Horrock's multiple times and the service and food have always been exceptional. However, on our last visit (close to closing time) we ordered two orders of Pad Thai with both shrimp and chicken, but this time only one of the orders had the requested shrimp and chicken and the other order only had chicken. We discovered this when we got home. I wasn't upset, and the food was still delicious. I understand that mistakes happen, and with the volume of orders they probably fill on a daily basis everything isn't always going to be perfect 100% of the time. and I only called them to let them know what happened. I had the good fortune of talking to one of the owners and I explained my situation. Let me say, he was so professional, accommodating, and kind! This gentleman went above and beyond regarding making things right. I was a happy and satisfied customer before, but now I wholeheartedly respect the crew at Eato Chef. If haven't visited this amazing food trailer I highly recommend...
