This place is a true gem! We had an unexpected stop in Deming, New Mexico on a hot day during the summer. What could have turned into a horrible experience was actually a wonderful time. We stumbled into Yoya's to escape 98 degree weather and were warmly greated by Cali, our waitress who immediately gave us large glasses of much needed water and a smile. Then, we ordered and were surprised to find that they not only had a veg burger and a decent veg salad but the beef burgers were terrific. We asked for well done which often equates to dry and tasteless yet these were moist and flavorful. Judy the cook is a master at bar food... So much so that since it was happy hour we order a few more $1 sliders because their burgers were that great. They have a full bar and the beer on tap was a decent selection. I had a wonderful deep Amber that hit the spot so much that I ordered a second one, which I never do. We hung out there relaxing, watching sports tv and periodically chatting with Cali, who is a salt of the earth woman. She even gave the kid rubber duck souvenirs from the town's annual Duck Festival we had just missed. There are a few places to check out while in town, a museum, a rock store, and even a cute little town park for kids and adults alike. While this is a tiny town in the desert, in the middle of nowhere, and easy to miss the people were warm, the food was great, and we will stop again. And so should you. Here's to Yoya's...
Read moreI received a response from the bar and grill They said they do not own Yoya's mkt. However, for some reason they have the same first name. I wouldn't go into either establishment now for to my experience from one very rude person. And, I'm happy to advertise.
Oh my goodness. This was my first experience in this store. I will NEVER EVER RETURN. I do not like rude ppl. I was mistaken about lottery ticket winnings. I asked to see the tickets and she refused, not once, twice but three times until i strongly persisted. I was wrong but I wasn't rude not even when I persisted. Not only did she refuse but she was RUDE ALL THREE TIMES. Her name is Rosa. Maybe it's because I'm white, I don't know. I've worked customer service a lot in my life and never should a person be treated the way she treated me. She doesn't deserve this job.
Because of her treatment of me Yoya's has lost a very good customer. I will never spend my money here again unless I get an sincere apology. Please...
Read moreWas originally going to stop at Fat Mamas after calling them while on the road from Palm Springs CA. Fat mamas said they would be open til 8. Arrived t 7:20 pm and they had already closed the kitchen. Stopped at Yoya's Market to use the bathroom and spoke to Mr. Salvador about our long travels and wanting some food. He owns the bar & grill attached next door and said they are open til 10 pm! The buffalo cauliflower, lemon pepper wings, and turtle cheesecake were delicious! The lemon pepper wings were well done just like I like them and I didn't even ask for them that way. The lemon pepper is a dry rub, very flavorful as were the Buffalo cauliflower. The turtle cheesecake melts in your mouth. Our waitress Elisa was not only beautiful, but wonderful. Thank you, Mr. Salvador! Your staff at both your Market and Bar were friendly, helpful, and kind. If my family and I ever find ourselves your way we will be sure to stop in. I will recommend your places...
