The food was overall good, came out fairly quickly and was hot, except the cheese for the pretzel. Cold cheese dip for the pretzel? Why? Plus it costs extra. We did ask to have it warmed up, but stillā¦cold? The pretzel was crazy huge and very good. I had their sloppy Joe it was really good, enjoyed the hint of sweet. My fries were fresh and hot, I really appreciate hot fries. My husband had fish and chips, he said it was good. He asked for the bottle of malt vinegar, he uses a lot! The plastic insert had been removed from the bottle, which would make it easy to fill those little to go containers that Iām guessing they put everything like cheese dip, tartar sauce and malt vinegar in, but not very easy for a customer. Probably shouldnāt have asked for the bottle. The service was no where near what previous customers have had unfortunately. My husband ran out of tea and I finally got up and asked our server for a refill, she was standing behind the bar. They had ran out of unsweet tea, so she got a super easy up-sale of a Blue Moon. I stopped drinking my coke because it oblivious I wasnāt going to get a refill and I didnāt want to be a total āKarenā and get up a second time to ask for a refill. At that time, I probably wouldāve just gone behind the bar and got it myself because our server was obviously preoccupied. We looked up at one point to see her out front on the phone, multiple times I looked over to see where she was and she was texting on her phone. Iād like to give her the benefit of the doubt and think that perhaps she had a situation that needed immediate attention. The other server ended up bringing our check and to go box. And that is why only three stars,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI havenāt been to this place yet, and hereās why:
When I first came across it, I was genuinely excitedāPottsboro desperately needs more variety when it comes to restaurants. Something other than the usual BBQ and burgers sounded like a breath of fresh air. So when I saw the name and thought āSloppy Joes? Yes, please!ā I was all in.
But then I checked the website... and there werenāt even any Sloppy Joes on the menu. Not a single one. Talk about a letdown. I feel misled, and honestly, Iām so disappointed I donāt even want to give it a try now.
RESPONSE TO OWNER"S RESPONSE:
Thanks for your response! I appreciate the variety of Sloppy Joe-inspired dishes you offer. However, I noticed that there isn't a classic Sloppy Joe sandwich on the menu. The Dr. Pepper Sloppy Joe Sliders (which are listed under appetizer) are the closest option, but they're quite different from a traditional Sloppy Joe. I understand you have your own unique recipe, but it would be great to see more Sloppy Joe options beyond sliders and toppings. Given your name, I was expecting a classic Sloppy Joe, Spicy Sloppy Joe, or even a kid-friendly version would be fantastic, but there isn't even a Sloppy Joe option there either. So, while I love the creativity, I feel a bit misled about the availability of a traditional Sloppy Joe. Hope to see more options soon!
OWNER'S RESPONSE was removed.
OWENER'S RESPNSE was to then add a few more items with "Dr. Pepper" sloppy Joe mix on top of a few regular menu items. That's still isn't an og sloppy Joe, then come back a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been here twice already. The first time it was my wife and I. The server was nice and polite but a bit slow. I ordered the chicken sandwich. He chicken breast was super thin, way overcooked and burnt all along the edges and on the really, really thin part of it. There was no salt and pepper at the tables. The drinks are crazy expensive - $15 for a cocktail here in Pottsboro? So my wife and I left not really impressed. I came back with my brother a couple/few weeks later (heās from Orlando, FL). Told him this was a new place near my house and wanted to give it a 2nd shot. My brother had the wings and I had the wet fries. I like my food to be salty, I really do. However, the wet fries were way, way too salty. I didnāt know if it was the fries or the gravy that was too salty, but you just couldnāt eat it. I also love draft beer and 2 of the 4 taps were out - one those that were out was my go to beer. My brother got the wings. $14 for 10 bone in wings. We thought that would be a good deal for him. However, these wings were very small. We couldnāt believe it. They looked like they came off a parakeet and not a chicken they were so small. We left pretty disappointed. I really, really want Sloppy Joeās to succeed. I always give a place a minimum of 3 tries before writing it off so I have to make 1 more visit to see what happens. Iāll update the review after my next visit to Sloppy Joeāsā¦theyāre right down the street from me. In summary, atmosphere pretty good; service pretty decent; food is poor;...
