Rookies Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Denmark

Small town tavern with a sports bat feel. Locals in the bar at lunch time talking about the Packer's game and local politics. Owner is sitting at the bar and bartender is also the waitress for floor seating. Nice place with low and high tables and and partial wrap around bar.

I ordered the Philly Cheese sandwich with chicken and broccoli cheddar bites. The Philly Cheese come with cuber chicken breast, peppers, onions, and cheese served on a toasted hoagie roll. Not a huge portion - but more than enough. The broccoli cheddar bites are breaded and deep fried and taste amazing. I have really developed a taste for these delicacies.

Overall a pleasant experience. The staff is not overly attentive but they are pleasant. If you want someone yo talk your ear off ... this is not the place. If you want to sit and eat in peace ... great place. If you sit at the bar - they will talk with you more.

I do recommend this place. I hear the fish fry on Friday is great. May have to swing by and...

I called in an order for a full serving of baked haddock at 5 pm today. When I went to pick it up, I looked inside and said to the young lady, I ordered baked haddock and isn’t this deep fried? She didn’t seem to know, so took the order to the kitchen to ask the cook.

Yes, it was deep fried. And it was a half order not a full order. She apologized and offered to redo the order, but I didn’t have another half hour to wait.

When I arrived at my destination I discovered that the red potatoes were not completely done either and The fish was poor, not to mention no tartar sauce and a dry piece of rhy bread.

I was thoroughly dissatisfied with my order. The cabbage slaw was very good, however. The waitress was kind but doesn’t know how to take an order

We went in for the Friday Night Fish Fry. The salad bar was an extra plus that was included with our fish dinner. Stuffed pepper soup was absolutely amazing. My husband and I both ordered the Combo Platter. There was Perch, Shrimp, Haddock, and Walleye. Both of our dinners were so delicious and quantities were really good too. We brought home leftovers. We will definitely be going back for the Friday Night fish Fry. The bartenders were great and kept checking if we needed anything....
