staying at a local campground, the group i was with wanted to get a ait down breakfast somewhere nearby. marges was the closest so we headed over. there was a very short wait which wasnt bad considering we had 7 people and it is a small place. the food was good and the guys doing the food running were really polite but the woman who took us to our table and even more so our waitress seemed absolutely miserable that we were there. Our party was split up into two separate tables but we shared the same waitress and when we were talking outside afterwards it came up amongst both groups of people that the woman who took our orders was rude, short woth everyone, and didnt even apologize when she spilled coffee onto the table and let food spill off of the plate when setting it down. we visited weeks ago, and to this day i can clearly see the scowl on her face during every interaction we had. anyway, the food was good but not good enough to justify going back and dealing with the potential to get that...
Read moreIn truth, it looks like a hole in the wall and has a crass slogan to match ("Eat here, Get Gas.") Spoiler alert: there are no fuel pumps on premises. The home fries were coated in like butter (or something? Milk?) to make them taste excellent. Crispy out, and soft in, just as they should be. And the place was packed, which means the food can't be bad. You rate things on Google in relation to expectations: it looks like a shack, so you're rating it against other local shack-type places. With friendlier customer service, it would...
Read moreI used to love this place. It has always been a staple for our family to stop at when visiting the shore. We thought she was looking for an appropriate table, but apparently not as she walked nearby a few times grabbing things for her tables. No one ever came back to us so we left and went to the Court House Diner further south on rt. 9. The most ironic part about everything was that the owner was sitting at the counter when this occurred and never said a thing.
Thats the last visit my family and I will ever make to Marge's. Our new staple is the Court...
