MORNING FOOD ORDERS BEWARE I stopped in this morning with my mother who remembers the old pitstop pizza and who wanted a slice or two. Since we were there and I wasn't feeling like pizza at 9:15am I asked a woman behind the counter if the kitchen was open- she confirmed that it was open and turned away from the counter to get one of the kitchen staff to come up to the food counter and take my order. I ordered 6 bone in wings and an order of cheeseballs. Both very obviously foods that will go in the fryer. The girl who was kitchen staff who was taking my order put it in, asked me if I wanted sauces on the side, and then took my card payment for the order. She asked me for a name for the order right after I got my receipt, I provided my name and then sat with my mother (who already got her slices of pizza and a drink) in their dining room, expecting to hear them call my name for my order. My receipt said my order was placed at 9:18am, and at 9:35am I was curious about my order and walked to the counter to inquire about when it would be ready. When I get to the counter it is a different member of the kitchen staff who waits on me, asks my name, asks if I paid for the order yet- and then mumbles as she's turning around to get the girl who actually took my order that they don't turn their fryers on until 10:30am. Girl who took my order appears. Nothing was ever started, fryers aren't on, nothing. I tell both of them that it's ridiculous to have not said anything to me about waiting an hour and a half before I could get my food. I inform them my mom has already eaten and I'm not sitting here for another hour before they start my food and I want a refund. They both determine they need another staff member to refund me, and when this woman arrives I explain how absolutely crazy and ridiculous it is to have to sit and wait for an hour and a half for my food when I specifically asked if the kitchen was open, my order was taken, and I had paid and not once did anybody inform me they wouldn't even start it till after 10:30. This lady literally looked at me and said "You didn't wait an hour and a half." Uhm, excuse me? How about an "I apologize, my staff should have informed you about the wait."? If I had waited until they decided to make my food I would have been waiting a MINIMUM of an hour and a half. WITH NO NOTICE. I worked in a fry kitchen before for about 4 years and it doesn't take very long to light a fryer. If you screwed up and took my order for fryer food when you shouldn't have, bottom line is you should have said something or done something. Not stood back there assuming I knew it would be over an hour while I'm sitting waiting in your dining room. And not even any sort of condolence from any member of staff for the mistake they made really smarts when I did everything I could to make sure I wasn't being a pest. I didn't assume the kitchen was open- I asked. I paid at the time I placed my order. I sat and waited patiently inside the establishment. Really really disappointed with how this...

If you’re looking for a quick bite, Pitstop Pizza delivers exactly what you’d hope for, hot, fresh, and flavorful pizza. Full disclosure: I didn’t eat at the Derry location, but the Latrobe shop, which appears to be a newer location (it used to be a barbershop, according to Google Street View). Still, the experience was good enough that I wanted to leave a review.
This is a small, takeout only spot with no indoor seating, but it’s perfect for grabbing a slice on the go. The worker who served us was friendly, and the pizza was ready in no time. They sell pizza by the slice, which is a nice option if you’re just looking for a quick snack, $2.50 per slice when I went, which is a great deal.
They also appear to offer specials on full pies, so it’s worth checking out if you’re feeding a group. Overall, a solid choice for fast,...
Read moreMy boyfriend and his family love this pizza. I grew up in Derry so I'm used to it but now we live up past new Stanton so whenever I come to visit my family they make me order food, sometimes we order during the week when they really are craving it. I always thought the staff was great until about little over a month ago... one employee waited till I walked out the store to talk bad about me to my sister in law and brother that were also in store . She said some rude stuff that wasnt even true in front of customers in the store, I was not happy at all so I called the manager and I heard she does this a lot, I've spoke to about 5 people who say she is always rude to them as well. We haven't been back there since. I dont trust what she'd do to our food. Plus we dont want to order from a place that has such...
