At Fody's Tavern, a delightful place to dine, We met our waiter Matt, with eyes so fine. And Dan, the marvelous drink-making man, Whose concoctions amazed our entire clan. With smiles and care, they tended to all, A big crowd of twenty-one, having a ball. Blueberry lemon drop martini, a perfect ten, Sugar rim absent, yet it shone, even then. Regular lemon drop, another delightful sip, Dan's creations earned a unanimous tip. No complaints arose, only praise to give, As his drinks amazed and made us live. Now, onto the food, a mixed tale to tell, Canadian Poutine, a slight cheese curd spell. Banhmi pizza, too saucy and bold, Though excessive, the flavors unfold. The onion soup, alas, brought no cheer, Served barely lukewarm, a huge disappointment clear. But fear not, for there were culinary wins, Grilled cheese, loved by kids, earning perfect tens. Crispy raviolis, a crunchy sensation, While blackened shrimp pasta faced frustration. Delayed and forgotten, a sorry affair, The dripping to-go bag, leaving me in despair. Burgers held their ground, a tasty affair, Smash burger, picky rating with utmost care. Cowboy and Tavern Burgers, they played their role, Accompanied by fries, satisfying as a whole. Overall, the food had its highs and lows, Inconsistency challenged the culinary flows. But the drinks, oh, the drinks, simply divine, And Matt and Dan's service, truly sublime. We've been here before, and the food was better then, Perhaps it was an off night, so we’ll return and judge again. Fody's Tavern, we grant you another chance, Hoping for consistency and a flavorsome dance.

Every we had was amazing. We ordered crispy brussle sprouts and Canadian Poutine, which were both delicious. Poutine had the perfect balance of gravy and cheese. Fries were hand cut fries that were slightly crispy and soft at the same time. Just the way we like it. The kids ordered grilled cheese with fries, nothing really special, chicken fingers and fries, and a Nashville chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken fingers were cooked to perfection. They were moist and the perfect crisp to the outside with the perfect amount of flavor. The chicken sandwich was good based on my son's opinion but needed more sauce. My husband ordered a mixed berry salad with pan seared tuna. Tuna was cooked perfectly with a sesame coating. It wrnt very well with the salad that contained raspberry and blueberries, candied pecan, goat cheese on a bed of arugula spring mix. I ordered the Char grilled center cut with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. My steak was cooked just the way I like it at medium rare. Garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and a perfect balance of buttery and garlic flavor. Asparagus cooked well with some char and still nice and tender. Overall, my family really enjoyed our meal. The waitress was very nice, friendly, and patient when my kids individually placed their orders. The atmosphere was relaxing and homey, though the temperature was on the chilly side for me. This was the first time we visited this place and will not be our last. I loved that we were able to find another gem that was so close to home.

We went on St. Patrick's Day 2019 for the Public soft opening. Our experience was superb. The food, service and ambiance we're exactly what we expected out of a new location from an established restauranteur. We enjoyed the Mussels appetizer, the chopped salad with red wine vinaigrette, and the the Corned Beef Reuben. All of the selections we're above expectation, however the Reuben was a standout. Large chunks of Corned Beef with homemade sauerkraut. Our server seemed skilled and experienced, she was attentive and informed. My lady friend is eating keto and our waitress was quick to educate herself on the questions we asked and return to us to answer. The bartenders appear skilled and their pour was generous and well balanced. Though this was a soft opening with a limited tasting menu and and an over abundance of staff, we are optimistic that the full menu, along with the large dining room and expansive outdoor tavern dining will also impress.

Tried this restaurant May 2nd 2021. We got there around 1:30pm so a bit later than a normal lunch rush. We were greeted kindly and were able to take a seat at one of the booths. We had waiting at least 10 minutes before our waitress came to ask our drink order. There weren’t a lot of people in the restaurant so anything more that 5 minutes is a bit slow in my opinion but I gave her a chance. We ordered our drinks and another 10 minutes we got them. We were ready to order but was today she would be back. This time was only 5 minutes. We ordered a simple burger and sandwich plate nothing crazy. Took about 30 minutes. Once I received my order it was wrong sandwich with the right meat (I ordered chicken instead of beef) this is where things get worse. I told my waitress that my order was wrong and being completely nice about it. I wanted the West T burger and got some other sandwich with arugula which I don’t like. She proceeds to say I was right it wasn’t the right burger and took it to the back. Not even 3 minutes later a new girl comes back with the right burger however it was the same chicken with cheese and the arugula and tomato scraped off and slapped some new buns on top. It still had arugula on it! I was completely beside myself that this would happen! If this had been a sandwich with blue cheese and given to me I would have gone into anaphylactic shock! Our waitress comes 5 minutes later and asked “is that the right burger?” I told her yes, and before I could tell her what was on my burger she spins around and leaves. I didn’t receive an apology for the messed up order but figured that it would be a discount to my order for the mix up. I did eat the burger after carefully plucking off the rest of the arugula but didn’t finish my plate. We waiting over 10 minutes after finish eating before our waitress came to our table. We asked for the check and that took another 10 minutes. By this time I was already fuming at how long it was taking to receive no only ordering, receiving our food, messing up my food, and now the check I was hoping that they would redeem themselves by a discount for such a poor experience. We receive the check and no such discount. I am all for paying for my meal 100% but not to receive a sorry or ask how our meal were while we ate (or more like picking off the leftover arugula) so I paid for our meal and left a tip according to our service. This receives a 2 star because the hostess was a pleasure and the food quality and size was pretty good but the service of our waitress really ruined the experiences of this tavern. If I could give advice to those that want to try. Our waitress was awful and it really is a hit or miss with this place. If you don’t mind a long wait for your simple meal then go for it, otherwise you can find other taverns around Derry/Londonderry that...

Had a reservation for 7pm. When we arrived the door to the dining room was locked so we went upstairs to bar area that was completely packed. Went back downstairs and finally got someone to unlock the door. We told him we had a reservation for 7pm and he asked if we were part of the party, we stated no in which he said that area was only for the party. We then told him we called this am and made a reservation for 2 for 7pm. He then told us to wait a moment and he wld be right back. Not to mention there were at least 2-3 other couples who had walked in after us confused as well bc they had also made reservations. Finally when the man came back to get us he then told us to go with him and seated us in the dining area. I then told him I was confused bc we had made reservations earlier that day and the bar area was “seat yourself” and there were no tables or open bar stools when we arrived. His only response was how it was school vacation week, which I still said but what does that have to do with me making a reservation? He really didn’t have much to say. I then told him how there were also others waiting bc they had reservations as well and his response was well that’s to bad I’m not concerned about them and they can go jump off a bridge. When he said that I honestly couldn’t believe that came out of his mouth, both my fiancé and I could not believe he said that. We still decided to stay and eat and had a the wrong appetizer brought out to us so had to send it back then part of my fiancé order was messed up but we ddnt say much about it. Also took an hour for our meal to come out and my baked Mac and cheese was extremely salty. At the end we asked our waitress who the gentleman was that sat us down and she stated he was the MANAGER and his name was Chris. We will never be going back there for the simple fact of how the Manager Chris was and his comment about the other guests. The food was not all that great either and the wait for the food...
