This is a cool place with amazing ice cream. The Killer Bee is addictive. I just tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago...since then I've been back 9 times. I literally busted out my credit card statement to add this up and I've spent almost $100 there in the course of 3 weeks.
Unfortunately, I won't be returning. There is an employee there who has reached my 3 strike rule. Everyone else there is so nice and friendly, so just hope he is not working. The first time I encountered him was my first visit...the people in line before me had gotten samples and he had informed them nicely that they were only allowed one sample. Cool...setting boundaries, you're a shop, not a sample store, not a problem. When it came my turn and I asked for a sample, he chose to very rudely relay the same thing to me he had just relayed to the woman in line before me. I get it...but...why the tone with me? Anyway, we all have bad days, forget it.
I then had a series of wonderful employees on my next few visits...then him again. Again, rude to my friend and I, not the words, just the tone, a complete change from the people before or after us in line.
Then tonight...had a craving for Killer Bee. I got there and the line was out the door (it often is, it's worth it and moves fast). I waited patiently and almost every person in line in front of me asked for a sample and he was happy to provide them their sample. It comes my turn, I order my half pint of Killer Bee, but I want another flavor and I don't know what, so I ask for a sample and I get, 'GIANT EXHALE....I have a line out the door....' Okay, nevermind...my sample was the hair that broke the camel's back, I guess?
I don't know if it's me...maybe he doesn't like the cut of my jib...whatever it is, it's clear I'm not wanted there, and neither is my money.
Go there...enjoy the amazing ice cream and the rest of the wonderful staff...draw your own...
Read moreVery disappointed I won’t be coming back here anymore. About 5 years ago I had reached out to them through their Facebook page to let them know their hours need to be updated. I did express some frustration but was totally respectful. They blocked me from their FB page. Very disappointed but I continued to support them! I love their ice cream. Fast forward to yesterday. I went in with my wife and friends and was treated extremely rudely by the gentleman working behind the counter. I was shocked as I have always had great service. I had accidentally almost put a dirty spoon in the clean bucket after a sample. He freaked out. Then I asked what did the Carmel corn flavor taste like and he bluntly said “Carmel corn”. I didn’t want to be annoying and try more than one flavor but then I was like ok I guess I’ll try it. He was frustrated for whatever reason and got me the sample with a scowl on his face. I said I simply wanted to know what it tasted like and jokingly I said I guess I’ll try every single one. He said no you won’t and stared at me. I then promptly ordered and he did not give me a normal serving size. I know because I have been a lot. So I decided I’d reach out through Instagram and ask to talk to a manager. I don’t do this when I have bad service somewhere but this guy was down right awful! I was super respectful in my message and didn’t share much but then I find out they just blocked me on Instagram. Really??????? That is how you treat your customers. I’ll never be back and will recommend the same to others. Other great options nearby. Not as unique but I’ll support another local business who respects...
Read moreWent in just a little bit today and ordered my one scoop on a sugar cone. The girl working told me the cones have been breaking today and asked ro put it in a cup. I kindly declined and asked for it in a cup. She then proceeded to scoop one extremely large scoop of ice cream and smack it onto the sugar cone and patted the top once or twice and gave it to me. My boyfriend ordered his and I moved down and took a bite and when I went in for the 2nd bite the entire scoop of ice cream fell off the cone and rolled across the floor. I picked it up and wiped the floor up and my boyfriend asked if I could get another scoop and the girl said no but that I could buy another scoop and told me it was my fault it fell off as user error. I told her that there was no way it would stay on the cone because she didn't pack the ice cream inside of the cone first but instead took a huge scoop and plopped it onto of the cone. The girl working proceeded to argue with me that she tried telling me the cone would break. My boyfriend paid for our ice cream and we left and I will not be coming back. I've been to Black Cat the last 3 days in a row and gotten my ice cream on top of a sugar cone and never had it break so I was completely appalled that the girl working was trying to feed me her line of garbage and then tried making me feel like it was my fault the entire scoop of ice cream fell off the cone. Do better at...
