Faustinos Taqueria — Restaurant in Des Moines

My husband and I stopped in for dinner tonight are we're so glad we did. I had been hearing good things about this place and it's not too far from where we live so we had to check it out.

I ordered asada and carnitas tacos and my husband got the asada burrito. We both really loved what we ordered. My tacos had so much flavor and tasted authentic. They were small but very filling. Both meats were very good but I think the asada was my favorite. I really appreciated that they used two tortillas on my tacos. Most places only use one and that’s too flimsy to support the whole taco. They had a little salsa bar with seven different salsas! I'm a sauce girl so I was in salsa heaven. I tried four of the salsas and they were all delicious. My husband's favorite salsa was the mango one. He said his burrito had a smoky flavor that he really enjoyed. They also gave us a free dish of warm tortilla chips. They tasted homemade. I really liked them a lot.

The staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The place was decorated in bright and cheerful colors and it was very clean. It's small but cozy. They don't have ice water; only bottled water, but it was reasonably priced. In fact, everything was reasonably priced. We can't wait to go back and try something else...

My husband and I are all about supporting small businesses, especially in our neighborhood. The lady that took my order over the phone was very pleasant and informative. My husband said when he picked the food up that the restaurant was very clean however, we both ordered burritos I had chicken and he had beef, we also ordered two chicken tamales we could not distinguish between the chicken and the beef because it was so minced up. You couldn’t tell the difference until I tasted it. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning the food did not have any flavor I mean it did not have any flavor , it tasted old and we were super disappointed because we were hopeful we had found a neighborhood Mexican restaurant a half a mile from our house. Unfortunately we will not be returning the bill. Total was around $31 and the tag is the truth it...

First time was amazing tacos healthy and everything was great..2nd time a little worse still came back 3rd time more sloppy 4th time even worse This last time I refuse to return to service Tacos burnt shells no meat grease piled soggy fries the soapas look like they had a teaspoon of product on them Got home looked at this food and said this is not ok! TOOK IT BACK AND THEY COMPLAINED I HAD SWITCHED THE BAG THEY PACKED IT IN AND SQUISHED THE PACKAGE TO REFUSE MY REFUND!!! YOU GUYS TIED THE BAG IN A KNOT AMD SQUISHED THE PACKAGES! I HAD TO PACK IT IN MY OWN GROCERIES BAG TO GET IT BACK TO YOU ....THEY SAID THEY WILL REFUND ONE THIS TIME AND NEVER AGAIN WELL GUESS WHAT I WILL NOT RETURN TO DO ANY BUSINESS AND WILL TELL OTHERS TRY THE TACO BUS ON UNIVERSITY AND MLK IF YOU WANT GREAT FOOD AND...
