Let me start off by saying that this used to be one of my favorite locations in Des Moines, but after we moved to the other side of town, we seldom are in the area to take advantage of it. My most recent visit was ridiculous enough to regret my decision, based solely on nostalgia, to eat here. The drive thru was unnecessarily slow for the number of cars in it (upon ordering, I was 4th in line). After 5 minutes of waiting, which always feels like 20, I finally had my order. Medium Coke, 2 sausage burritos. Easy enough. My coke, which normally has almost too much ice was prepared by someone who is still dealing with a pretty crippling ice phobia... 3 cubes was all they could muster to put in my cup. Fortunately, the drink was still cold, and given the rate I planned to consume it, it wasn't about to warm up any time soon. If this was the only infraction, I wouldn't even be writing this novella. I reached into the bag and pulled out burrito number 1. It had clearly been left on some kind of hot plate for some time. The shell, when made fresh is soft, warm, and inviting, however this one was borderline puncture resistant. My dentition won the war and I was able to choke it down. Fortuitously, I had extra soda to flush it down, thanks to the clairvoyant running the ice machine! Now, burrito number 2, they shouldn't have sold it to me without doing some kind of background check. This puppy, in the wrong hands, could do some serious bodily harm. I didn't even bother trying to take a bite out of it. I just put it in my console in case someone tries to carjack me, I'll be prepared to defend myself. The tortilla had morphed into a form of ceramic, best suited to coat the nose of the space shuttle. The cheese was dried out to the point that the wind coming through the window caused it to disintegrated and blow away. The Bus was playing Dust in the Wind, so it was really quite beautiful. I was driving west down Grand, and luckily all this was discovered by the 2nd stop light. Hello...
Read moreWorst Mc Donald's experience ever! Had incorrect items placed in wrappers that matched our order. When we went back to have them correct the order and tried to hand the bag back to them, the manager told us to pull around front and keep the sandwiches while they corrected the order. Meanwhile, the swing manager, Shirina, came to the front pull over area and demanded the food that we were told to keep. I opened the bag and showed her the sandwiches and the receipt. She decided that the reason the order was incorrect was that we had placed the order wrong (we didnt, we ordered online and confirmed our receipt information with the cashier) and that we had ordered sandwiches that were not on the menu (the messed up sandwiches were the #3 item on the menu with extra bacon, they had given us burned English muffins instead of biscuits). I advised Shirina that we would accept replacements for the incorrect items at the time we complained, but after 45 minutes of waiting, I was no longer willing to accept the order replacement and wanted a full refund for my order since they kept the order. She refused to refund the order, and instead offered to refund 1/3 of the order, to which I advised was unacceptable and I requested the corporate information to continue my complaint which Shirina refused. This type of behavior is unacceptable of management of any sort. This location used to be my favorite location to frequent, but after this experience I will never return to this location and advise you to do the same. This location will steal your money and try to make a scene in their own lobby to avoid satisfying their...
Read moreWorst experience I've ever had at McDonald's! After working my shift I decided to get breakfast and since my window is broken I had to go in. There's a gentleman ahead of me so we both wait for assistance from what looks like the only person running the front. Apparently the lady is "encouraging" customers to use the kiosk. So the lady goes over with the gentleman and runs thru the whole process with him. Then he is paying with cash so he needs to come to the counter regardless. So I order and pay and while I'm doing this she tells me and the gentleman that they are going to do away with the registers and everyone will HAVE to use the kiosk. So I said that I wouldn't come in then. Probably shouldn't have said it but I did. But I'm not the one that's on the clock...she then starts in about how her experience at a local HyVee (I'm still in my uniform) was when she went to eat breakfast there. I asked her how HyVee got brought into it to kinda wake her up at what she was doing with her "customer service"...but that didn't work and she went on and on about it the whole time she was waiting on the gentleman. I just kept looking at her and let her rant. Then she went over and worked on putting hashbrowns in the fryer with no gloves on and not washing her hands. Took some food out and put my bag on the counter in front of me and took a tray out to a table.
So I guess I just want to say to whomever...I work in customer service everyday and this was THE WORST experience. If this is what your customer service is coming to then I thank you...because I would rather do my own cooking at home than to have your kind of...
