The free starter is a plate of fresh vegetables, but it's not what you think. We had some sliced pickles, radishes, 2 whole green onions, pickled tomato or peppers (unsure and forgot to ask), olives, and some cut carrots. The drinks don't have prices however they were phenomenal. We ordered the lions tail and a Liquor 43 sour, $10 each and worth it. We had the onion rings as an appetizer, and they're HUGE! Couldn't finish it, there were so many, great tasting and right amount for the price. My boyfriend got the ribs, they were good however the BBQ sauce was a bit overpowering, the underlying seasoning is much more delicious. The cole slaw is onion heavy but the sauce is the right amount, if that's your thing then great but if you like a more balanced slaw, maybe do another side. I had the almond crusted walleye, oh boy was that good. It was so crunchy on the outside and the butter sauce they used was the right amount of sweet. I'm not a sweets person but this was delicious. The brocolini was perfectly charred and gave a delightful balance to the sweetness of the walleye. After it all we got a creme brulee which was on the house for our celebration of our 5 year anniversary. The staff is amazing and the atmosphere is cozy and wonderful. I'm greatful for the experience. If you're concerned about prices, definitely look up the menu in advance, but I'll say the portions match the price well...
Read moreI want to preface my following experience by saying that we received excellent service and that Fireside has a charming atmosphere. We have family in the area that regularly attended this restaurant and love it, and I've tried to factor this into my review.
My family and I attended this restaurant as a large group. They obviously aren't accustomed to large groups, as the host/hostess was very surprised by our group size when taking our reservation, and a good chunk of the food we received after a long wait was lukewarm or cold. I would also advise most to stay away from the rooster sandwich unless you enjoy a very salty sandwich with little to no aioli; while it wasn't inedible, I've had more enjoyable sandwiches at Chick-fil-A, not to mention that my fries were also cold. I don't typically like to complain when my experience was otherwise good, but with the prices they charge, I expect hot and high quality food, which I did not receive.
I would advise future perspective customers to order a dish that Fireside is more proficient at and to attend this restaurant in...
Read moreI've been here twice. The second time we went was worse than the first. My 2nd time here I brought my mom and girlfriend from out of town. My mom ordered the most expensive item on the menu being the steak at 90$ medium(medium is her choice not mine) , I ordered the ribs that were 32$ and my girlfriend ordered Parmesan encrusted chicken. To make it short my ribs were done 15 to 20 minutes before the others food and got cold waiting to be served. My mom's steak came back rare to medium rare and my girlfriends parmesan encrusted chicken was just chicken with parmesan thrown on it. My ribs were sent back to be heated again but when my mom's steak comes back rare to medium rare I was overtake with grief. Our waitress never came to take care of our items or to see if we were satisfied. I had to get up to get my mom's steak cooked the way she ordered it. I ended up denying to take my ribs back as a statement t of how I felt about the service. 20$ was taken off my mom's steak and nothing was done about the chicken. Don't plan on...
