The food was good and a welcome addition to the neighborhood as most restaurants in the area are fast food.

I am rating it 3 stars not on the food but the service. I visited during one of the recent polar vortex days. I specifically drove to this place to show my lil brother the importance of supporting black-owned businesses. When we got there we thought it was closed because the inner door was locked but it was a security door so you had to be buzzed in. When we got in some guy at the bar greeted us and immediately told us to take off our hats (I assume he works there but he had no uniform). I told him we were just coming from outside in -20 degree weather and didn’t understand why we needed to take off our hats (mind you he was wearing a hat himself). At this point, I’m fed up because I don’t like being treated like a criminal especially when I’m spending my money at your establishment and especially if I’m trying to support my community. Nonetheless, I had driven out here so we grab a seat. The waiter was also acting as a bartender so although the drinks and food was good service was slow.

This experience left a bad taste in my mouth so I wouldn’t visit again as I’ve received better service from other black-owned restaurants off The Avenue of Fashion and downtown area. I do hope that service improves and that others (especially young Black men) don’t have the...

Had absolutely NO idea this place would be exceptional!! The atmosphere on a Friday evening was laid back and easy. It wasn't busy so we had our choice of seats. The server, Tez, was the best we've ever had. He began by addressing us by name and making drink recommendations. We were very pleased with his suggestions (Bloody Mary -with bacon & the Strawberry Lemon Drop) and we actually ordered a second round [that exceptional for us!]. The entrees were delicious. I had the fried catfish filets and my husband had the pork chops. Both were cooked to perfections. The catfish was flaky and the cornmeal coating was not too salty. The pork chops were fried hard, but were tender and moist. The side dishes were pretty good, too! I had collard greens and mac & cheese. My husband had the loaded potato.

While the neighborhood may cause pause, it is not necessary. Just use common sense and enjoy the dining experience!

We ate too fast to take food photos. But, we WILL definitely go back...

Went there for breakfast today and it was not good at all. From the moment we walked in we were never acknowledged.I ordered a side of catfish and the waitress forgot it. The location was not crowded at all for her to have forgotten. The eggs were stiff as a board with cheese just laid on top. I had to ask for a spoon for my grits. Every staff member in the place besides the kitchen, as I could see, was standing around eating. Not a good look as patrons like myself we’re just waiting for water. Customer service should have been number 1 since they had a sign that said so but, clearly not enforced! 👎🏼👎🏼 I have been here before and had a similar experience but just chalked it up to them being new. At this point they have been in business for at least 4yrs & nothing has changed. Disappointed to say...

I loved everything about Fusion Flare. I am a stickler for customer service and from beginning to end customer service was excellent. You were greeted with a hello upon walking through the door. The staff were all smiling and truly appeared to enjoy their job and working with each other. We were greeted with water within 5 minutes of sitting down. My waitress Tiffany was the greatest. Now the main part the food was excellent I have no complaints about anything we ordered. It was all fresh and tasty, the drinks were also worth every dime spent. If you are looking for good service, good food and a great atmosphere this is the place to be. And the music was so on point it just added to an already wonderful experience. Fusion Flare will definitely be one of my favorite spots.

Ended up stumbling upon this place just doing a Google search, and it had high ratings. I'm glad I gave it a chance. It looked like they were putting together an outdoor seating area, and it was still under construction out there. I thought they might be closed, but they were open. The food was excellent. They had the aunties in the back with the Crown Royal shirts on throwing down in the kitchen!!! Good wings, good baked mac. The candied yams were amazing. The food gets a 5. Bartenders were also great. They were very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it was a great experience. If you're in the area its definitely worth stopping in to eat some good authentic food.

From start to finish, my experience at Fusion Flare Kitchen & Cocktails was top-tier! First of all, my waffle was HOT upon delivery—something I’ve never experienced before, and I’ve had my fair share of takeout. The wings were piping hot**, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I had the lavender lemon drop with 1800, and wow—smooth, refreshing, and just the right kick. On top of all that, the service was impeccable. If I were the manager, I’d be proud to hear my staff encouraged a guest to return—because they made sure I felt welcomed, appreciated, and seen. As someone visiting from #HTX, I will absolutely be back the next time I’m in Detroit. You’ve earned a fan!
