Ham Palace — Restaurant in Detroit

My friend and I decided to go grab a bite to eat. We were on the hunt for some breakfast food. So, we decided to go to one of my favorite spots and on our way there we noticed this place. Well, yup, you guessed it, we both agreed on eating here instead, considering neither one of us ate here before.

Don't remember what day it was, but I know if was semi crowded this particular day. Enough to still see who's coming in and out and greet customers as they entered. Let's just say, we walked in, not one person greeted us, made eye contact or acknowledge our presence. So we stood for a few minutes and decided to sit at one of the tables near the entrance. I believe we sat there for about 5 minutes still no acknowledgement, a greeting or eye contact. Let me say this, the building is so small, it's hard to not have seen us come in.

After the 5 minutes elapsed, we just decided to leave. I refuse to spend money somewhere that I feel my time and/or business is not appreciated. Long story short, I don't think you get a second chance for a first impression with me. As a business owner myself, I know the importance in making my customers feel appreciated and welcoming.

To the owner of this establishment, please take the time and talk to your staff on the importance of customer service. A simple "hello," " I'll be with you in a moment," goes a long way. For the simple fact, you don't know who is walking into your place...

For starters I have been coming here for over 10+ years or more, and I must say it has never been this bad. The waiting was ridiculously long. I tried calling to place my order, however could not get through. So, therefore I went in to place my order. When I got there, it was extremely busy with only one waitress, she was doing the best that she could. However, it was over a 20 minute wait for a sausage egg and Cheese sandwich. Then I looked behind me and there were at least six people. They are in need of some help!! Seriously. Food is good and consistent. Need to hire another waitress. ...

I love this place, the food and the cook, but every time Im there the only Black lady that work there her attitude is horrible. I came in and advised the that the last time i was there y’all forgot the cheese, and because I said the word “y’all” she got a attitude... Her customer service is dry and I can’t imagine that life is that bad that every time I come there she got an attitude. I come there at at least one time a week... I’m giving 1 star in hopes that they do something about her attitude or they will lose...
