Note from 2018 visit Enjoy. 42 year's owner John man's the grill now along with his wife only offer all meals in take out containers, no table service you're Welcome to eat at a booth or long counter on those antique short round stools. Cash only folks the nicest old couple in Detroit making happen in a true DIVE oh it's really clean once you get past the heavy-duty screen windows and armor door. We enter to stares like you crackers in the right place, many regular old time customer's surely don't see many white folks, a few just stared at us the whole time. I don't mind really street smart from my upbringing in Detroit. I had great conversation with John and told him took me like 2 year's to visit after reading Detroit Free Press article by John Carlisle who I follow. He spoke truth about this death ridden area of the city, burned out high crime a worse part of Detroit. Ordered a Double Damn Cheeseburger you could taste the fresh hand patted Burger. He shops early each morning for the product he cooks for the day. I had the very best Salmon Patties with Eggs and Grits OMG took me back to me grandmother fantastic Salmon patties on the menu each day you get 2 large delicious patties. Had this Famous Omelet so unique so WOWED best Steak Omelet ever eaten and the biggest too. He takes 2 Boneless 6oz Ribeye Steaks cooking on flattop grill then chopping, he cooks 2 Omelets the top each with Cheese 3 kinds Peppers, Onions and Steak then get this he flips one on to the other like a giant pancake that fills the entire large Styrofoam container. Outrageous piece of art so much flavor every single bite,,, Instant Addiction WOWED oh hell yeah going back for more. Very confusing place its only open Monday to Tuesday but not wensday opens again on Thursday and Friday. It's only open 10 am to 1 pm, but you can only call in before 12 noon or they don't answer the phone you can walk in from 12 to 1 but you can't eat there only carry out..if you some how can learn that schedule next you will have average food for extremely expensive prices. Then the people are slow and if you can't tell by there hours lazy. Worst of all rude which sealed the deal for me. Today was the worst experience I've ever had. I started calling around 11am to place my order no one answered I proceeded to drive from Inkster to Detroit to Johns Grill to get the do it slammed in my face.A Caucasian women cane to the door and stated had you placed your order I began to explain I tried and no one answered when she interrupted me and said we are closing at 12 and not taking anymore orders and slammed the door in my face.
